It has been a long time since Kansas City was in a fully festive mood. With the Kansas City Chiefs securing a dominant 31-0 win against the Las Vegas Raiders, patient fans were finally rewarded with a shutout regular-season victory. It was only fitting that Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his wife gave a public shout-out to the team.

So, Hunt’s wife, Tavia Hunt, decided to take it upon herself. She shared a post celebrating the Chiefs’ Week 7 victory on her Instagram story. She first paid tribute to the franchise and coach Andy Reid for achieving their first shutout regular-season game since 2011. “Coach’s FIRST regular season SHUTOUT!!”
Above that message, she also shared a special message for the return of wide receiver Rashee Rice. “Rashee’s return,” she wrote on X. The team had been eagerly awaiting his comeback from both an injury and a six-game suspension this season.

Before injury prevented him, Rice had 24 receptions for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns across his first four games last season. If he can bring the same explosive game, the Chiefs likely won’t have any concerns in the WR room. He had 7 receptions for 42 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Raiders.

He celebrated by punting the ball with his right leg. “Just a lot of passion,” the WR, who returned to the field for the first time this season, said. “I had to get the first one out of the way. I probably won’t be punting the ball anymore, but I had to bring the juice, the spark, to the offense for the first touchdown of the game.”
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was thrilled at Rice’s return. After all, he was getting his top wide receiver back. And it was evident right from the first play. Rice’s longest reception, a 12-yard gain, was one of Mahomes’ best completions of the game.

“You saw the trust that Pat has in him, which is so important,” coach Andy Reid said of Rice. “I thought the whole receiving crew did a nice job, but it was great to have him back. The energy he brings is just tremendous.”
Many were in attendance at the game to witness the rivals, the Raiders and the Chiefs, go head-to-head. Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, and tight end Travis Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, were also in attendance. It clearly isn’t all bright on the other side.

Andy Reid had a message for Pete Carroll after a shutout win
The Chiefs were too good for the Raiders. The team held Las Vegas to fewer than 100 total yards of offense, allowed zero third-down conversions, and controlled the ball for over 42 minutes. The Chiefs also racked up 400 yards in that time.
The team easily secured a win without Mahomes on the field in the fourth quarter. Wins such as this don’t come every day. Reid’s first regular-season shutout game of his career. Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are making history in Kansas City. The duo has matched the franchise record for most wins by a coach-quarterback tandem, equaling the mark set by Hank Stram and Len Dawson, who led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl championship in 1970.
The numbers are staggering. Reid has won 72% of his games in Kansas City, a career win percentage that now surpasses Bill Belichick and multiple Hall of Fame coaches. However, after the win, Coach Reid also took a moment to share his thoughts and offer encouraging words to the Raiders’ coaching staff. Especially the Raiders’ head coach, Pete Caroll.
“My heart goes out to Pete,” Reid said. “Pete and I have been doing this a long time. The team with the injuries, that’s just crushing for him. Especially when 98 goes out of the game, that’s a tough thing for a guy to go through. I know it’s the Raiders, and I know we like to get after the Raiders, but you hate seeing that happen to his players. He had a couple different injuries that took place. Tough deal, but he’s a good football coach.”
The Raiders have struggled on offense and, surprisingly, on defense as well in the last few weeks. Just as their defense had started to show promise and find its footing again, edge rusher Maxx Crosby left the game with an injury.
