Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs just reminded everyone why they’re still the team to fear, crushing the Las Vegas Raiders 30-0. The offense looked sharp, fast, and ruthless. But now, it’s all about Week 8. The Chiefs, sitting at 4-3, will host the Washington Commanders at Arrowhead Stadium. However, before Chiefdom gears up for another electric game, one thing might slow the fireworks: the weather.

According to Commanders reporter Ben Standig’s recent update on X, there’s a 64% chance of rain on Monday. And the humidity is estimated at 89%. On top of that, the wind speed will be 5-10 mph. That’s not exactly the kind of setup you want when two teams are looking to air it out.

And if it does pour, that might just make things harder for Washington.
The Chiefs’ defense has been good all season. Throw in slippery turf and swirling winds, and it could get messy real fast. For Mariota and company, even short passes might turn into risky plays. And to make things worse, the Commanders are banged up.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels is still out, and defensive tackle Daron Payne hasn’t practiced all week because of a lingering toe issue. He’s officially questionable heading into the weekend.
Kicker Matt Gay also popped up on the injury report Saturday with a back injury and is questionable as well. That’s a lot of uncertainty, but not everything is gloomy for Washington.
There’s some good news too. Receiver Terry McLaurin is finally back after missing time with a quad injury suffered in Week 3. His return should give the Commanders’ offense some life. Still, facing the Chiefs at Arrowhead is a challenge no one envies.

Kansas City Chiefs look confident heading into Week 8
The Chiefs are starting to look like the team everyone expected. They’ve gone 3-1 in their last four games, averaging a solid 31 points per matchup. With Rashee Rice finally back in action, the Chiefs are ready for another dominant showing. And honestly, that last win showed what they can do.
Patrick Mahomes led five straight scoring drives before stepping off the field, and the team didn’t miss a beat after that. The Chiefs’ offense looked electric, but it’s their ability to control the game that really stands out. They broke down the defense and kept complete command of the tempo. This makes them scary heading into Week 8.
And Jayden Daniels’ unavailability also tilts the advantage even more toward Kansas City.
This season, Daniels has missed or exited early in 4 games, and in those the Commanders have gone 1-3. Their only win was against the 2-5 Raiders. Without him, it’s hard to imagine Washington keeping up with the Chiefs’ rhythm.
Still, football is unpredictable. Maybe the Commanders pull off a shocker. Maybe the weather changes everything. Or maybe, just maybe, the Chiefs do what they always do, handle business at Arrowhead. Let’s see how it unfolds..
