The Kansas City Chiefs‘ wide receiver and apparently the fastest in the NFL, Xavier Worthy, finally made his long-awaited return in week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. But maybe the comeback was temporary.

They had listed Worthy earlier in the week. But after getting full practice leading up to week 5, they decided to remove him from the report on Saturday. However, when everything looked ‘good to go’, the team gave a little jolt to the fans.
In a surprise twist, the Chiefs added their WR back to the injury report ahead of the Monday night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

They have now listed Worthy as “questionable” with an ankle injury, which swelled up after he got off the team plane.
“Xavier Worthy (shoulder/ankle) is now questionable for Monday night’s game,” the Chiefs revealed.

Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated‘s Matt Verderame gave fans something to cherish. “The expectation is he will be okay for MNF against the Jaguars,” he said. So yes, Worthy can still be promoted to the active list as other experts also weighed in, signaling good news for the Chiefs kingdom.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe added: “I’m told Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy ankle was a little swollen getting off the plane today. Chiefs put him on injury report as questionable as a precaution for now and will see how he feels tomorrow.”
The ankle seems to be a bigger concern for now. Not the shoulder, which Worthy has been managing since week 1. The good news? All signs point to Worthy suiting up.
That’s massive for the Kansas City offense. In the first game back last week, the Chiefs dropped 37 points on Baltimore with Patrick Mahomes tossing four touchdowns. It serves as proof that the 2024 first-round pick instantly opens things for the unit.
Of course, the fans will be keeping an eye on the inactive list. It will drop 90 minutes before the 8:15 pm ET kickoff.
