Patrick Mahomes has come back into red-hot form at the right time. The Chiefs lost the first two games, and it seemed like the end of the world for the Showtime. This was their worst start since 2014 and their first 0-2 start for the signal caller. But after winning 4 out of the last 5 games, they are back in the NFL spotlight.

During the October 22 episode of The Rich Eisen Show, NFL legend and Super Bowl winner Kurt Warner said what other teams are fearing to admit against Mahomes. “So I don’t think anybody is going to want to play this team that they do. When you look at the AFC, when you looked at it early on, and the Chiefs were struggling,” he said. Warner is warning the other teams that are going to play them.

It goes back to the start. Their rivals, the Buffalo Bills, the Denver Broncos, and the LA Chargers started their season with victory. So, he then added, “I think they are back,” before revealing how they have found their form back at the right time. The dominance has come from Patrick Mahomes’ comeback.

“Early in the season, it didn’t look like Patrick Mahomes was confident…Now they’ve gotten back to what we’ve seen from this Chief’s team over the last couple years, and it’s the quick throws, it’s the rpo’s to supplement the run game, it’s um you know the things that Patrick can do, you know moving with his legs and making throws on the run.” Warner said about Mahomes

The Grim Reaper picked up his pass accuracy from 55.2% in week 2 to 74.8% in week 7. That’s almost a 20% increase. Also, in the week 6 and 7 games, he has scored 6 TDs with zero interceptions. Improving his own performance as the season progresses.

After the physical game against the Detroit Lions, he clearly warned all 31 teams that they weren’t afraid to play against any team. During the week 7 matchup against the Raiders, he even faked a snap call to use the element of surprise.

It showed up in Week 7 when the Raiders lost to them in a 31-0 shutout loss. In 3 games, which they have lost, the Chiefs have lost by a maximum of 6 points. However, in all 3 other victories, they have won by a margin of double-digit points.

While they are 3rd in the AFC West with a 4-3 record, and the Broncos are leading with a 5-2 record, the Chiefs could easily surpass them in a few weeks. In the week 7 game against the NY Giants, Broncos QB Bo Nix had a stunning 4th quarter as they scored all 33 points to win. Otherwise, it would have also been 4-3.

However, the legend also credited another player as the reason behind their rise

Patrick Mahomes’ ace receiver is helping them to win games

The signal caller emerged as a dual threat this year. Not only in his passing game, but he also leads the rushing department with 4 TDs in 42 carries for 250 rushing yards. However, after a long wait, he has his ace receiver back.

WR Rashee Rice missed last season after a collision with Patrick Mahomes that ruled him out of the season with a knee injury. While he recovered from the injury, he pleaded guilty to the highway accident while racing cars. The NFL suspended him for the first 6 games. So, he came back in Week 7 and helped them win over the Raiders.

“They’ve got their weapons back, and Rasheed Rice is coming back into form,” Warner added while citing the major boost to the Chiefs’ offense.

In his comeback game, Rice scored 2 touchdowns from 7 receptions for 42 receiving yards. That’s 50% of the 4 TDs by the top receiver, WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown. So, they have a great chance of making the playoffs. All they need is for all their players to perform at the same time.
