One day, Patrick Mahomes will retire from the NFL. He would have given the Chiefs fans several happy memories by then. But his contribution isn’t limited to just football. By the time he hangs his No. 15 jersey, he will have had a strong impact in the Kansas City community with his ’15 and the Mahomies Foundation’.

The foundation has already given grants to several non-profit organizations in the city. But in its newest move, it raised more than $1.5 million on Monday during its sixth annual gala. It was held at the Kansas City Convention Center.

And to make the event more special, the fund was immediately donated. “$1,508 000 raised and immediately granted to 20+ charities on stage tonight,” 15 and the Mahomies Foundation’s Instagram account mentioned in a story. That’s more than the $1 million they raised last year and distributed to 20 charities in the city.

The official Instagram page shared a clip of all the representatives posing with the couple. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and his wife Tammy were in attendance at the gala. Mahomes’ parents and siblings were present too. The QB also made sure to throw some passes to his guests—something he had done at the 2024 charity gala as well.

This organization was started by the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback back in 2019. It was meant to help local communities and kids. And according to its mission statement, the foundation is “dedicated to improving the lives of children,” with a focus on health, wellness, and supporting communities in need.

It backs a wide range of charitable initiatives and partners with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, Children’s Mercy, and Lead to Read—all working toward creating meaningful, long-term impact.

One of the many reasons Patrick Mahomes is so beloved, both in Kansas City and across the league, is his commitment to giving back. That generosity was on full display Monday, October 20, drawing widespread praise across social media. Fans flooded timelines with admiration, celebrating Mahomes not just for his brilliance on the field, but for his big-hearted impact off it.

For instance, in the last few years, the QB has been part of several such programs. In August, he supported 15 and FARE as My Cause My Cleats beneficiary. This initiative between the two organizations was meant to bring FARE’s public health programs to the city as well as raise awareness about food allergies.

That same month, the foundation awarded 15 students from the Kansas City, Tyler (TX), and Lubbock (TX) areas with a $10,000 college scholarship each.

Football fans admire Patrick Mahomes’ efforts!

Back in 2019, the QB was on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ when he announced he was starting a charity to aid children in need.

“It’s a foundation that’s designed all around kids,” he said back then. “Kids from either under-served communities that don’t have the same opportunities I had when I was young, or kids that are in the hospital who have chronic illnesses or have suffered major injuries. Because those kids are the ones that train harder than me by 100 times every single day.”

That’s the mentality that football fans admire. It didn’t take too long for them to voice their thoughts on social media:

  • “Not a huge Chiefs fan, but Mahomes is a great man!”
  • “He does use his platform for so much good…… I love that.”

He wanted to give back to the community. And he chose to do so by giving them the resources they would need to have a good life. No wonder the foundation focuses on science and, arts, provides classroom supplies, athletic training, supports children with disabilities, and offers after-school programs.

  • “Thank you, Pat Mahomes, and your foundation for raising money to help the youth!”
  • “This is so amazing.”

In 2019, he also donated iPads, telepresence robots, a Vecta machine, and Mamaroos Swings to the Children’s Mercy Hospital to assist with rehabilitation and well-being.

  • “What a wonderful organization you have, Patrick Mahomes, and the good you do for all the children of the world. Thank you.”

That year, the foundation gave a $15,000 grant to 15 different local charities. Those numbers clearly grew in 2025. What do you think?
