Travis Kelce has a change in the name of his favorite player. When Patrick Mahomes had his vintage performance in the AFC championship game in 2020, Travis Kelce joyfully highlighted how good Mahomes is, as he keeps proving his worth in the league. However, this time, it seems Kelce has some other names to offer under the best players’ list.

Travis Kelce is the hot topic of the season this time. With his impactful performances on the field and eye-grabbing appearances with his alleged love, Taylor Swift, Kelce is being invited to many interviews and press conferences. This time again, the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast invited the tight end on the show and asked his top three dominant players of the season. And surprisingly, his list doesn’t include Mahomes!

Travis Kelce was finding it hard to recall the best?

In the latest episode of the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast, Travis Kelce was asked who his top three dangerous weapons of the league are. The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end first picked out Tyreek Hill, saying, “I saw I was saying it from the day that he got here in Kansas City like if you don’t have this guy on your fantasy team, you need to get pick him up right now… the most electrifying player I’ve ever played with or ever seen with the ball in his hands… he’s always been up here as No. 1 weapon the NFL has ever seen.”

After naming Hill, Kelce found it hard to pick other names, interestingly forgetting his team’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. After a pause, he called out the names of George Kittle and Mark Andrews, describing them as the other best of the league currently and praising their running and passing game plays.

Interestingly, even after mentioning these three names, Kelce chose to exclude Mahomes and his perfect throws, despite Mahomes being arguably the best quarterback in the league currently. However, there was a time when Kelce admitted that Mahomes was indeed the best.

Travis Kelce called Mahomes the best!

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are best friends in the NFL. However, Kelce opted to exclude his friend from the best-of-the-league list this time. Nevertheless, there was a time when after winning the AFC championship game 35-24 against the Tennessee Titans in 2020, when Kelce, in a post-game interview, said about Mahomes, “The best quarterback in the National Football League right here, baby. And he shows it every time.”

Furthermore, after winning Super Bowl LVII, Kelce, too, said that Mahomes will be “best to ever do it when it’s all said and done.” After praising him repeatedly over the years, Kelce surprisingly didn’t mention Mahomes this time, despite the 2x MVP’s great plays.

Well, only Kelce knows why he didn’t pick Patrick Mahomes when asked about his top three dangerous players in the league. He wasn’t probably thinking of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. What do you think?
