Before the August 27 launch of his brand Tru Kolors’ collab with American Eagle Outfitters, Travis Kelce had a bright smile on his face as he checked out the final designs. The Kansas City Chiefs’ No. 87 is a fashion hype beast, never shying away from converting a tunnel walk into a runway moment. But he always keeps two styling mantras in his mind: comfort and confidence. With Tru Kolors x AEO, that was exactly his goal. Now, keeping his word to truly immerse himself in roll-out plans, Kelce has another big announcement.

On September 24, the second iteration of the TK x AEO collab dropped to extend its ‘Live to Play’ campaign. With that, Kelce promoted the pop-up TK x AE Coffee DJ Party, dubbed “Manifest Your Mindset” on his Instagram story. He captioned it, “Wake up with @trukolorsbrand & @americaneagle tomorrow morning!!”

The special one-day-only event is hosted in partnership with American Eagle and Tru Kolors and promises “a community hub of fresh brews, curated sounds, and rare finds from Manifest Mart.” Here are more details for the pop-up:

Where: Blip Coffee Roasters, 1301 Woodswether Rd, Kansas City, MO 64105
When: Saturday, September 27, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM
What to expect: Attendees can look forward to enjoying some fresh brews, exploring the TK x AE collection, enjoying limited-edition giveaways, and vibing to live DJ sets throughout the day.

The second drop from the collab features over 90 pieces priced between $14.95 and $179.95. When launching the partnership of his lifestyle brand, Tru Kolors, with American Eagles, Kelce told Forbes, “I’ve had to keep my excitement about this collab under wraps for nearly a year.

“I started Tru Kolors in 2019 on the foundation of showing up authentically and having fun with style. And we wanted this collab to reflect that same energy,” Kelce said in the American Eagle Outfitters launching update. “I want everyone to feel like there is something for them in the collection, something they can feel good in and make their own. I’m excited for it to finally be out in the world.”

As creative director, Kelce played an active role in everything from fabric selection to graphic design, aiming to fuse style, confidence, and personal expression. The collection features standout items like heavyweight vintage-inspired tees, cricket sweaters, varsity and rugby pieces, utility cargos, and soft knitwear.

“American Eagle and Travis Kelce were destined to collaborate. An iconic brand teaming up with one of the greatest athletes of our generation, that’s what I call a win,” said Jennifer Foyle, President and Executive Creative Director of American Eagle Outfitters.

Meanwhile, Kelce enlisted friends and fellow athletes, such as rising tennis star Anna Frey, UConn guard Azzi Fudd, quarterback Drew Allar, top wide receiver recruit Jeremiah Smith, basketball guard and Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony, and Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, to represent the campaign’s “live to play” philosophy.

“Teaming up with Travis Kelce and American Eagle has been such an amazing experience!” Kiyan Anthony shared in a press release in August. “I’ve been a fan of the AE brand for years, and even though we play different sports, I’ve always admired how Travis stays true to himself both on and off the field.

“When Travis reached out about the campaign, I was super hyped. Getting to work alongside such an incredible group of athletes has been an honor. I love fashion and have a real desire to build in the space, so it was surreal to be part of a campaign like this, especially one that’s meant to support confidence and creativity.”

But this activation isn’t just a sale, it’s a community-building event, turning a coffee shop into a brand experience right before the Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Due to his upcoming game, Kelce won’t be able to join his fiancée, Taylor Swift, at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding.

The nuptials are on Saturday, September 27, just a day before the game against the Ravens. Travis Kelce would like to be well-rested before a game at home. Plus, the wedding is in California, which means that traveling to a different state and coming back to play a game will be too tiring for the tight end. And let us not forget that a team has rules to follow: the night before any game, the Chiefs’ players have an 11 p.m. curfew. They also cannot consume alcohol before game day.

The Chiefs are 1-2 and cannot afford another loss at home. All this makes it impossible for Kelce to make the trip from California to Missouri and arrive just in time. However, we can be sure that Kelce will host the coffee rave successfully and look to stretch the win count for KC in Week 4. What do you think?
