The Kansas City Chiefs are headed for a disastrous end to the 2025 season after losing multiple players to injuries in the Week 14 game against the Houston Texans. Earlier, they lost the left tackle Wanya Morris, who injured his left knee. Now, cornerback Trent McDuffie also met a similar fate.

He also injured his knee and headed to the medical tent during the game. At the 6:45 mark in the first quarter, on a 1st & 10 play at Houston 33, quarterback CJ Stroud threw a deep 46-yard pass to his receiver, Nico Collins. McDuffie tried to bring him down, but injured himself in the process while the receiver completed the catch.

Trent McDuffie walked on all fours for a second before holding his injured knee. Chiefs trainers immediately rushed out to check the extent of the injury. That’s a colossal blow to the Chiefs, who are trying to make a turnaround in the season. He is a star defensive player with the third-highest tackles in the team (62 overall, 44 solo). He also has one sack, seven defended passes, one interception, and one forced fumble to his name in 12 games.

In the Week 14 game, he made one tackle before going to the sidelines, where he was listed as questionable to return. He was later seen running to test his knee. Cornerback Nohl Williams replaced him in the game. But the AFC West team suffered a bigger setback just a few seconds after the setback.

They were already struggling with injuries to their offensive linemen. Another starter went out.

The Chiefs later listed him as out of the game. NFL doctor David J. Chow also shared the video of his injury and said it could be a hyperextension and ligament tear. He also claimed that the tackle could be out for the season, which further worries the Chiefs Kingdom, facing tough times.

Before the game, right guard Trey Smith (ankle) and right tackle Jawaan Taylor (triceps/knee) were ruled out of the game. Both players stayed away from practice the entire week. It put additional pressure on the Chiefs, who further injured their players while trying to assert dominance over the Texans. It’s a tough road for the Super Bowl contenders.
