The Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, had the worst season of his career. Not only did he experience a losing season for the first time in his career, but he also suffered a season-ending ACL injury. To make matters worse, his father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was arrested today.

“#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes father former #MLB standout Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested today,” reported TMZ, via MLFootball on X. “Mahomes was arrested for allegedly drinking alcohol which is reportedly a violation of his probation for his DWI sentence. Pat has been arrested for DUI at 3 times.”

Since February 3, 2024, Mahomes Sr. is serving probation for a DWI incident. The incident took place in Smith County, Texas. As per records, he was “driving while intoxicated third time or more.” The Tyler PD arrested him. He could have been locked up for 10 years for a third-degree felony charge, but he pleaded guilty, leading to probation.

Unfortunately, on the two-year completion mark, the star QB’s father violated the probation by allegedly consuming alcohol. Now, he could be locked up for a decade for not abiding by his parole conditions. Mahomes Sr. could also be looking at doing community service, Alcohol Anonymous classes, and enrollment in a repeat DWI offender program.

Moreover, this is not the first time the police caught him. He was arrested for DWI in 2019 as well. It is hard to see how his conditions have worsened. Mahomes Sr. is a former MLB player, having played for six franchises in 11 eleven seasons. The Pittsburgh Pirates were the last team he played for before retiring in 2003.

While one member of his family keeps getting into problems, another member of the Mahomes household just entered the Hall of Fame.

Before getting engaged and marrying Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes was a top star in a different sport. She was a soccer player, having represented the Texas-Tyler Patriots at the NCAA Division III level. Although it has been years since she left her soccer career, the University of Texas did not follow her.

Recently, she was inducted into the University of Texas at Tyler Hall of Fame. She represented them from 2013 to 2016. During that period, she scored 31 goals and 16 assists in 74 games. Out of those 31 goals, 10 were game-winning goals.

Despite not playing soccer any longer, she is not away from the sport. Brittany and Patrick are the co-owners of the Kansas City Currents. The National Women’s Soccer League formed the team in 2020 with authorization. While the Chiefs failed to qualify for the playoffs, the Current did not. They led the standings with 21 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws, and reached the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Besides that, Brittany is a certified fitness trainer and an influencer, promoting her workout brand, Brittany Lynne Fitness. Even as the star quarterback is healing, his wife is there with him. She helps him and also takes care of the children. Patrick Mahomes is truly lucky to have.

Still, Mahomes would not be able to use that luck on his father. Following his violation of probation, there is hardly anything the quarterback can do. Now, it remains to be seen how the legalities take place.
