In March, Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy and his ex-fiancée Tia Jones found themselves caught in a very public legal battle. Just seven months after proposing to Jones, Worthy was accused of domestic assault by his partner. Once the feud went public, Worthy responded by suing Jones for false allegations and defamation. For a few weeks, their messy breakup stayed in the headlines and grabbed a lot of attention online. On April 8, the ex-partners reached a peaceful legal agreement, dropping all charges against each other.

During their messy public breakup, both athletes took shots at each other through cryptic posts. That back-and-forth finally stopped after their legal agreement. But looks like Xavier Worthy had one last message to send. On Wednesday, the Chiefs’ young wideout made a final decision involving his ex-fiancée. The 22-year-old took to Instagram to announce an update about a foundation he runs. In a story originally posted by the Worthy1Foundation, Xavier is seen posing with school kids inside a classroom. The caption on the story read, “Off the field & in your classroom.”

Now, the thing that caught followers’ attention was a subtle yet telling change. The foundation that once carried both Xavier and Tia’s names no longer does. The Chiefs’ WR had named it ‘xavierandtiaa‘ back when the two started dating. The move was inspired by their shared vision of giving back to the community. But things have changed. Xavier’s now decided to drop his ex-fiancée’s name from the title altogether. And just like that, the young WR seems to have quietly closed the chapter on a very public relationship.

Before this recent move, Worthy had already spoken publicly about Jones when the ex-partners agreed to drop charges against each other. As reported by TMZ, Xavier shared, “I regret any misunderstandings or conflicts that arose during my relationship with my ex-fiancée. I also acknowledge that my legal representatives may have made public statements about my ex-fiancée that were intended to protect me, but were misstated.”

Well, with things seemingly settled now, and Worthy’s one final decision about Tia out in the open, he had one more update to share with his followers.

Tia, a track and field star, reportedly met Xavier during his senior year at Texas. The WR first slid into Jones’ DMs, but she never replied. Then they both happened to cross paths at the same valet station while heading to dinner with friends. Tia, running late, bumped into the NFL star, and he later asked her out on a date. “That’s why God had me late to that dinner ‘cause I met my man,” Jones shared on The Pregame Podcast with Toyko and Sydnee.

Now that they’ve separated, both are ready to move on from their past. Worthy is gearing up to start practice for the 2025 season, while Tia is focusing on chasing her dream of making it to the Olympics by preparing for upcoming track competitions.
