Nearly 20 years after her debut album, Goodies, Ciara will be part of Grammy-winning rapper Missy Elliot’s first-ever headlining tour. The duo is well-acquainted with Elliot being part of Ciara’s ‘1,2 Step’ in 2oo4 and Ciara collaborating with Elliot for her 2005 hit ‘Lose Control’.

Grammy-winning rapper Missy Elliot announced about the “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience,” on Instagram. The tour will see Ciara and others travel to Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles, Houston, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Newark, Toronto, and other cities.

Apart from working together nearly two decades ago, Elliot and Ciara recently teamed up for the remix version of Ciara’s 2018 single “Level Up.” In fact, Ciara and Elliot’s friendship goes way back. In 2012, while working on her One Woman Army album Ciara said that she shares her ideas with Elliot and respects her a lot.

Ciara had said, “I remember looking up at her one time like, ‘My friend is Missy Elliott,’ and I’m thinking to myself ‘that’s crazy,’ just because of how much I respect her and what she’s contributed to music. Being around people like her is always inspiring to me.” Also last year, rap when icon Elliot received the Global Impact Award at the second annual Black Music Collective event Ciara posted a heartfelt message for her friend.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, “It was truly an honor to pay tribute to my friend, big sister, icon, and legend @MissyMisdemeanorElliott. I will never take moments like this for granted!” During the event, she also honored Elliot and sang the co-written “1, 2 Step” at the event.

The duo will now be traveling across North America after their big announcement, and even Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson shared his excitement for the upcoming tour.
