We all know for a fact that Joe Burrow is the face of the Bengals franchise. After signing his five-year, $275M contract last summer, this became clearer to anyone who had any doubts. But now, the Bengals fans will witness whether Joe Burrow really has any power in Cincinnati.

This thought comes on the back of him ‘bull horning’ the Bengals front office for two of his most prized receivers. Tee Higgins, who was part of Burrow’s 2020 draft class, is coming to the end of his Bengals contract. And this has got Burrow calling shots on his bosses, indirectly urging them to sort out Higgins’s contract soon. The 25-year-old has said “he would be very disappointed” if Higgins doesn’t get the extension he deserves.

Well, Burrow is also ready to do anything in his power to keep Higgins in Cincinnati, “I’m confident that I think we’re gonna be able to do what it takes to bring Tee back. I know that I’m gonna do what it takes to get him back, and so is he.” Such messages have led to Cincinnati Reporter Jeremy Rauch questioning Burrow’s power: “We’re about to find out how much power Joe Burrow has inside Paycor Stadium.”

Now, amid all the contractual talks, here’s an interesting angle: Higgins has sacked his agent, David Mulugheta. As per Kelsey Conway, “They are no longer working together. Higgins is currently playing on the franchise tag and will be seeing a long-term deal in the offseason.” After Burrow’s comments on Higgins facing a contractual dilemma, he has come up with his own reply. The 25-year-old expressed, “That’s cool. That would be exciting to return here and what not. Shout out, Joe.”

But here’s the thing. Tee Higgins isn’t the only person Joe Burrow is advocating to sign a new deal. He also wants the Bengals to keep Ja’Maar Chase on board for the sensational season he is having.

Joe Burrow wants the Bengals to keep Ja’Maar Chase beyond this season

Chase, playing his fourth season in orange, is leading the league in receiving TDs and receptions. After 13 games, Chase has 15 receiving TDs alongside a whopping 93 receptions with 1,319 yards. So, he is clearly a huge part of Burrow’s offensive plays this season. Now, it doesn’t really surprise us that Burrow is going all guns blazing to help secure Chase’s future in Cincinnati, “He deserves all he’s gonna get and more. Hopefully, we can play together as long as we’re in this league.”

Collecting a base salary of just $1.005M, it doesn’t look like Chase would be exercising his fifth-year option on his rookie deal. Going back to September, Burrow had similar concerns about Chase not signing an extension, “It’s definitely a distraction when it’s not done.” Even though 14 weeks have passed, Chase is yet to sign his new deal. Even last week against the Cowboys, Chase showed what he can do in Bengals colors.

Scoring 2 TDs on 14 receptions for 177 yards, Ja’Maar Chase is on his way to earning the contract he surely deserves. Now that the Bengals are back in the playoff race yet again. All three of them need to continue helping their team until the final week. Otherwise, if the Bengals fall short of the playoffs. Who knows, maybe the hierarchy wouldn’t offer either of them what they deserve throughout their time in Cincinnati.
