The Arizona Cardinals will hope to bounce back and halt a three-game losing streak when they face the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. However, the team is dealing with a slew of injuries. Among the injuries, linebacker Joe Bachie has made headlines.

“#Colts LB Joe Bachie was fined $6,500,” James Boyd wrote on X ,“for tripping #Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty in the second quarter of Indy’s 40-6 victory over Las Vegas in Week 5. In an unrelated move, Bachie was placed on IR this week due to a foot injury. He’s eligible to return in Week 10 (overseas).”

Bachie’s fine for “unnecessary roughness” is the first for the Colts to get fined this season. He wasn’t the only player who got fined in that game. The Las Vegas Raiders safety Tristin McCollum made knee contact with Colts kicker Spencer Shrader and was fined $5,722.

Now, Bachie’s woes didn’t end in Week 5. Bachie is placed on injured reserve with a foot injury. He had started five games this season, recording 26 tackles, one pass defensed, and contributing on both defense and special teams. He will miss at least four games.

In his absence, the team will have veteran Germaine Pratt, who was already expected to take on the starting role with or without Bachie. He will miss at least four games, giving Pratt a big opportunity to solidify his spot in the lineup.

This time, the Cardinals will also be without their quarterback, Kyler Murray. The QB suffered a foot injury in the 21 – 22 loss to the Tennessee Titans. And he is not expected to start the game in Week 6. In his absence, the Cardinals will have veteran backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett start the game.

“I have full trust in Jacoby,” wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who has been practicing with Brissett, said. “I think the biggest thing, he’s been such a good leader and mentor for me since he got here.”

Tight end Trey McBride also seemingly vouched for the QB. “I think Jacoby’s, obviously, he’s played a long time in this league,” McBride shared. “He’s played for a lot of different teams. He’s played for a lot of different receivers, came in the middle of season started, he’s done it all.”

As of now, the Cardinals have ruled out two key defensive linemen, Bilal Nichols (personal reasons) and Darius Robinson, with a pectoral injury. That’s already a blow to their defensive front. Several players are listed as questionable, including wide receiver Zay Jones (knee), cornerback Max Melton (hamstring), and linebackers Cody Simon (knee) and Mack Wilson (ankle).

It’s a long list, and Arizona will be hoping at least a few of them can suit up on game day. While the Colts seem to have the upper hand with a 1-4 record, the team is also dealing with two injuries.

Colts Prepare for Week 6 Amid Key Injuries and Returns

The Colts just dropped their final injury report ahead of the Week 6 game, and there’s a mix of good and bad news for fans. Cornerback Kenny Moore has officially been ruled out due to his Achilles injury. In his absence, the Colts are expected to elevate veteran corner Mike Hilton to the active roster once again, giving their secondary some much-needed depth.

Another player who is ruled out is running back Tyler Goodson, who is recovering from a lingering groin injury. He’s missed several practices. To fill the gap, the Colts might look to elevate running back Ameer Abdullah to the active roster.

However, it’s not all bad news for the Colts. Their wide receiver, Alec Pierce, has cleared concussion protocol and is set to return for this game. He suffered a concussion in the Week 3 game against the Titans. And as a result, he missed the following game in Week 4.

Head coach Shane Steichen also confirmed that Pierce hadn’t cleared concussion protocol, which led to him being ruled out for Week 5. His return in Week 6 is a major boost for the Colts’ deep passing game.
