The Indianapolis Colts have surprised everyone in the 2025 NFL season. After stumbling to an 8-9 finish last year, many doubted they could turn things around. Yet, with Daniel Jones stepping in as QB1, Indianapolis has flipped the script. Now sitting at 6-1, the Colts are proving the skeptics wrong.

In Week 7, the dominance continued. The Colts rolled past the Los Angeles Chargers 38-24. For context, the Colts have hit at least 30 points in five of their seven games. After the win, Jones talked about the win. “Obviously that’s a good thing and we’re excited about that, for sure. I think we’re proud of how we played to this point.”

Still, Jones made one thing obvious: the season is far from over.

“I think everyone knows we’ve got a lot in front of us, and, in order to accomplish what we want to accomplish and be the team that we believe we’re capable of being. We’ve got to continue to improve and work and sharpen up the things that haven’t been as sharp,” the quarterback added.

Jones posted a passer rating of 113.4, throwing for 288 yards and two touchdowns. But the hero of the game was Jonathan Taylor. He carried the rock 16 times for 94 yards and scored three touchdowns against the Chargers.

This is one of the most efficient Colts offenses we’ve seen in years. They gained significant yardage, 401 yards, with effectively (6.9 per play). They’ve been dominant since Week 1, when they dismantled the Dolphins 33-8. And recently, they put up 38 points on a Chargers defense that’s been tough all season.

For context, the Chargers defense only allowed 42.9% touchdowns, second-best in the NFL.

So when people doubt this team, Jones makes it clear, they haven’t seen them play yet.

Daniel Jones responded to his critics with confidence

After Week 1, Daniel Jones said, “I don’t think it was surprising to us.” Fast forward to Week 7, and he would tell you the same thing. Yet, doubters still doubt. However, Jones has a message for them.

“Sounds like y’all didn’t know much. But we’re just going to keep going, keep working, and we’ve got a lot of confidence. We’ve got a lot of good players, guys who work hard and do the right things,” Jones said.

Through seven weeks, the 2025 Colts have shown why they’re hard to stop. Before Week 7, Jones’ team was leading the league with 32.3 points per game. Now, after defeating the Chargers, that number has improved to 33.1.

And Jones himself is at the center of this domination. He has recorded one or fewer sacks in 6 of his seven games. And the best part? He did it with a passer rating above 100. And the 28-year-old trusts what’s around him. He trusts his head coach, his teammates, and, most importantly, himself. And you can see that in their plays.

The offense is firing on all cylinders, and the city of Indianapolis has a lot to cheer about. For context, Colts team in the Super Bowl era has put up this kind of production through the first seven games. With that kind of consistency, let’s see how far Jones and the Colts can push this season.
