The Washington Commanders hit a new low in Week 10, losing 44-22 to the Detroit Lions with President Donald Trump in attendance. It was their fifth straight defeat, marked by sloppy mistakes and a defense that couldn’t keep up. Injuries added to the trouble, with Ale Kaho and Jonathan Jones sidelined. Now, the Commanders face yet another problem off the field: leakage.
A video of the Northwest Stadium has surfaced online, highlighting a leak in the press box’s ceiling. Water was leaking through one vent and was collected in a garbage bin placed on the table. There were lights everywhere in the room. Therefore, there is always a risk of a short circuit because of constant water drips.

The Northwest Stadium, previously known as the FedEx Field, has been the home ground of the Commanders since 1997. Surprisingly, the team played two consecutive matches in the stadium, yet no one addressed the issue.
The journalists and analysts are present in the press box, reporting on the ongoing event. So, such safety issues can cause accidents, putting their lives in grave danger.

The Northwest Stadium is not the only stadium of the Commanders that seemed to make the headlines. Their upcoming home ground also appears to be the topic of heated discussion based on U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s recent remarks.

Stadium issues are never-ending for the Washington Commanders
The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium was formerly the home ground of the Washington Commanders from 1961 to 1996, before the team relocated to FedEx Field.
Recently, after completing all the paperwork, the D.C. Council approved a $3.7 billion deal to build a 65,000-seat, closed-dome stadium on the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium’s old site. It will be the home ground of the Commanders once again and is scheduled to open in 2030.
With just a couple of months since its approval, the stadium has already caught the media’s attention.

A few days back, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his desire to name the stadium after him. It is a difficult scenario for the Commanders as they cannot name the stadium after an individual, even though they can sell commercial stadium sponsorships.
Donald Trump can use his authority to gain the approvals, but the fans were having none of that. The President was present at the Northwest Stadium and experienced the Commanders’ crushing defeat. However, the highlight of the match was the fans booing him for the recent developments.
While the issues with the $3.7 billion stadium remain unresolved, the safety concerns at the Northwest Stadium have exacerbated the situation. It is still a few years before the shifting of the home ground. Before that happens, the Commanders’ owners should be trying to fix the issues at hand.

The leaking in the press box is something that requires immediate action.
The Washington Commanders will be on the road, playing the Miami Dolphins in Week 11. It gives the authorities some time to solve the problems and verify everything before it is too late for any action.
