The Washington Commanders rank 29th in total yards allowed and stand at 3-5. Each loss pushes Washington closer to irrelevance in January. If they fall again to the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, Dan Quinn might finally pull the plug on one of his biggest names.

On Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio and Chris Simms dissected players who could flip teams before the trade deadline.
“There was a point on Monday night where I had to check to see whether or not Von Miller was inactive,” Florio said. “He had 16 snaps for the Commanders. He’s done well, though with the work he’s gotten, and if the Commanders lose to the Seahawks on Sunday night, they should consider what they can get for Von Miller.”

Through eight games, the two-time Super Bowl champ Von Miller has four sacks and owns a per-snap sack rate of 2.06 percent, which is better than Micah Parsons’ 1.9 percent. Not bad for a 36-year-old pass rusher playing part-time snaps. But his 16 plays on Monday night tell a deeper story.

The Commanders may be managing his workload to keep him fresh, or they may just be preparing for life without him. Because with playoff hopes dimming and Jayden Daniels still uncertain to return, Washington might cash in on what’s left of Miller’s high-end trade value.

Simms added, “Maybe he’ll want to get out of there if they lose this weekend and he’ll want to go again, put me on a team that’s got a chance here.” And Florio followed it up with what every fan in Denver secretly thought: “Send me back to Denver.”

That’s exactly the move that might make sense. Miller signed a one-year, $6.1 million deal in July, far from the monster contracts of his past. He’s chasing incentives, another playoff run, maybe both. And if there’s one place Miller wouldn’t mind heading back to, it’s Denver.

Von Miller could land with the Denver Broncos
Mike Florio even teased about it, but the idea’s not as far-fetched as it sounds. The Broncos sit at 6-2, and their defense ranks 11th in total yards allowed.
So, the real question is: will Denver want him? Because the linebacker room is deep and disruptive. Jonathan Cooper has 6 sacks this year and sits seventh in the league. Nik Bonitto’s got 8 this season, with 31 in his career. Even Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad have chipped in, combining for 4.5 sacks this season.
But they could use Miller’s presence when it matters most, closing games in December. That might be where Miller comes in. Not as a starter, but as that fourth-quarter closer Florio mentioned. The guy who slams the door when you’ve got a lead.
And if the Commanders are ready to move on, both sides might just get what they want. Quinn gets future value, and Miller gets another crack at something real. A chase that ends where it once began: in Denver.
