“With the Dolphins sitting at 1-6, teams around the league are keeping a close eye on their pass-rushers ahead of the trade deadline, including Bradley Chubb (no guaranteed money after this season), Jaelan Phillips (in the final year of his contract), and Matthew Judon (a surprise healthy inactive on Sunday).”

Right now, Bradley Chubb inked a three-year, $54,490,000 deal with Miami that includes a $7,445,000 signing bonus and over $33 million guaranteed. He’s set to make a base salary of $1,255,000 next season, along with a signing bonus and a workout bonus that push his cap hit to over $12 million.
It’s a hefty price, but when you’re desperate for defensive firepower, numbers like that don’t scare you.
However, sitting at 1-6, the Dolphins also might be ready to offload the veterans and reset their roster. Moving Chubb could free up salary space while bringing in draft picks. On the other hand, Washington has both the cap room and the defensive gap to justify this move. It feels like a classic win-win setup if Quinn can pull it off.
This season, he has totaled 13 solo tackles, nine assists, four sacks, and one fumble recovery in eight games. So, Chubb’s production makes it easy to see why he’s on Quinn’s radar.

How Bradley Chubb will Improve Dan Quinn’s Commanders?
The Commanders haven’t been the same since Montez Sweat and Chase Young left. Losing Dorance Armstrong to a season-ending knee injury didn’t help either. That setback exposed just how thin Washington is on the edge. Adding a proven name like Bradley Chubb could instantly change that tone.
Moreover, Chubb’s impact goes beyond just sacks. His ability to collapse the pocket and force bad throws could finally ease the pressure on the Commanders’ secondary, which has been stretched thin for weeks. Plus, his size and flexibility fit right into Dan Quinn’s system. Quinn values players who can move around, disguise looks, and still hit home. And Chubb does all that naturally.
If Washington decides to make a bold move before the deadline, grabbing Chubb would send a loud message across the NFC. It would show that this team isn’t giving up on 2025. Sitting in the middle of the pack, the Commanders need a jolt. And Chubb could be the spark that reignites the pass rush and restores confidence inside FedExField.
So, as the deadline approaches, all eyes will be on how Washington responds. Will Quinn pull the trigger or stay patient? One thing’s clear: Commanders Nation wants answers, and soon.
