Shilo Sanders, who has been on the lookout for a roster spot, faces another disappointment. The safety is not making the list of teams that desperately want to fill the position. Now that the Washington Commanders have looked the other way, does Shilo have a chance to land somewhere else?

The Commanders announced their latest roster moves on X, and Shilo is missing. Instead, the franchise welcomed wide receiver Treylon Burks and defensive tackle Sheldon Day from the practice squad. Additionally, the three-time Super Bowl champions signed cornerback Tre Hawkins and safety Daryl Worley to the practice squad.

With safety Will Harris out early in the season, Washington was desperate to find a player who could fill in for him. However, the decision to bring Worley over Sanders may spark debate, especially since Shilo has been roaming free for months. He would have been a good option to add safety depth to the squad.

Yet the decision has been made, and Washington is ready to try the 30-year-old veteran. Daryl is no stranger to the Commanders and spent the preseason with them before moving away in the final roster cuts. In his ten-year-long NFL journey, Worley has played for several teams, including the Panthers, Raiders, Cowboys, and Ravens.

Meanwhile, Shilo, who wants to find a stable role after facing months of uncertainty, continues his search. According to reports, the former Buccaneers practice squad member may reunite with his brother, Shedeur Sanders, as the Cleveland Browns have shown interest in him. The team struggles in the AFC North with a 2–6 record and has even released safety Damontae Kazee.

With free roster spots, Shilo could bring in the much-needed energy in the defensive unit. It could be the perfect opportunity for him to revive his NFL career while playing alongside his brother. But being away from the sport hasn’t slowed his creativity. So, what has Sanders been up to lately?

Shilo Sanders gets creative beyond the field

The ex-Buccaneers athlete has finally found a rhythm months after they cut his NFL dream short during pre-season. Shilo Sanders has since shifted his focus to personal growth and exploring creativity. In late October, he posted a carousel post on Instagram, pairing with his own song, “Change.”

The song is part of his debut album, “Hate 2 Love,” which dropped in January 2025. For those actively following Sanders, this creative turn doesn’t come as a surprise. The 15-track album blended vulnerability and confidence while exploring self-belief through someone who’s constantly in the public eye.

As the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shilo has grown up under the spotlight, and he understands the feeling. Interestingly, the athlete has embraced this lifestyle and his creative side. His Instagram feed, which once had training clips and locker-room updates, is now filled with studio sessions and music previews.

Officially, Shilo is currently a free agent and may return if the right opportunity comes knocking. But while that doesn’t happen, he’s busy with his other ventures beyond the field. Just as his dad advised, Sanders is not chasing the narrative and is rather controlling it.
