The Dallas Cowboys wanted Maxx Crosby before the trade deadline. They tried and failed. Now they have to face him in Sin City, and that twist hits differently. Brian Schottenheimer knows the Silver and Black will not make it easy. So before game week fully starts, he warned everyone.

Speaking about Crosby during his appearance on the Cowboys Huddle, he said, “He’s so disruptive.”
“Another stat that I saw literally right before I walked down here was he’s leading their team in passes defended. So, think about that. It’s usually the DBs or the safeties that are knocking balls down at the line of scrimmage. It’s not, it’s Max Crosby… I love the motor the guy has… the way the guy plays is he plays it the right way. And that’s what you love about the guy. And he is a force that we have to try to neutralize the best we can.”

And the numbers back it all up. Crosby owns both edges. He chases quarterbacks and shuts down the run. He has 23 solo tackles, 14 assists, 5.0 sacks, and 1 interception in 9 games. That is rare production. And he does it behind a relentless motor. Every snap feels personal with him.
So yes, that is why Schottenheimer tried to trade for him. But Dallas got nowhere. FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported it.
“They are calling around for help on defense, but they’re not the only ones. Washington’s calling for a defensive end. The Eagles are always calling around, looking for help on defense. The Giants are the only ones staying put.”

However, the story didn’t end there. Maxx Crosby made it clear to the Raiders he wasn’t going anywhere. Jay Glazer confirmed it, too.

“There was one team that called me and say, ‘Hey, could you find out [about Crosby’s status]?’ I told them, ‘No, he doesn’t want to go. The team said, ‘Man, we’d love him. His loyalty [is strong]. We wish it wasn’t, though.'”

Now, Schottenheimer has turned his attention to the rival coach.

Schottenheimer turns up heat on Raiders before MNF clash
The Cowboys are preparing for Monday night in Las Vegas, but the mood around the game just changed. Brian Schottenheimer, speaking on 105.3 The Fan, didn’t hold back, he called out Raiders coach Pete Carroll.
Schottenheimer also pointed to the Raiders’ new lead running back, Ashton Jeanty. He said Jeanty proves Carroll is sticking to his old playbook, power running with a big, physical back.
Jeanty, the sixth overall pick, is already the centerpiece of the offense. According to Schottenheimer, this is classic Carroll: smash-mouth football, just like his Seattle days. It sounded part scouting report, part warning.

“Pete is used to having big backs, physicals. You go to Marshawn Lynch, people like that; you can turn around and hand the ball 30 times, things like that. He wants to do that,” Brian Schottenheimer said.
Meanwhile, Carroll did not run from the talk. Instead, he backed it.
He told ESPN reporter Ryan McFadden that Jeanty reminds him of Marshawn Lynch. Early tape shows why. Jeanty is one of the only steady playmakers in the Silver and Black offense. His style feels like a throwback to the old Seahawks ground game. And now both sides know the other one sees it.
