The Dallas Cowboys were left without their top receivers, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, for the Week 11 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The visitors decided to party a bit as they were in Las Vegas. But things got out of hand, leading to head coach Brian Schottenheimer benching both players for the first drive. Announcer and former Cowboys legend Troy Aikman cleared his stance during the game.

“We’ll hear from Brian Schottenheimer after this game, as to what went into the decision to (bench George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb). How much he’s willing to reveal on why he didn’t start CeeDee Lamb with George Pickens. Especially in a game like this, you’ve had the bye week, you’re coming off a couple of losses, you haven’t played as well as what you’d like. An opportunity just to kind of put everybody on notice and send a bit of a message,” Aikman said in the broadcast booth.

The real reason, though, as reporter J Tuck explained, is that both receivers were caught on camera breaking the curfew. The head coach scolded them in the hotel lobby for getting involved in such a legal risk. The head coach even spent extra time talking with both receivers during warmups. He was expected to clear up the situation after the game.

While Lamb came into the game during the first play of the second series, Pickens joined him on the second play of the same series. Together, they made a solid impact in the Cowboys’ 33-16 win. Lamb had 5 catches for 66 yards and a score. It was Pickens’ 3rd game this season with 100+ receiving yards as he posted 9 catches for 144 yards and a 37-yard touchdown.

Stay tuned! There’s more to this.
