”CeeDee Lamb, now at 532 career receptions, passed Dez Bryant (531) for third in receptions in franchise history,” as reported by Dallas Cowboys Public Relations on X.

The timing from the team made the statement even more notable, as his name was already in the headlines along with George Pickens, but for other reasons.

In this game, Lamb officially surpassed Dez Bryant to have the third-most receptions in franchise history. The special moment for the receiver came on his very first catch of the matchup, an 18-yard touchdown from the quarterback, Dak Prescott. It did not stop there; adding to the importance of the special move, it was his 40th career receiving touchdown.

Let’s take note that he did not just cross Bryant’s record; the pace at which he did it is also surprising. It took him 88 games to reach there, whereas Bryant achieved it in 133 games. Even in this game, he overall performed well, finishing with five catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.

In the Week 11 clash, the Cowboys surely outperformed the Raiders. Dak Prescott completed 25 of 33 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns. How can we forget George Pickens’ performance, as he had nine catches for 144 yards?

On the defensive side as well, the Cowboys looked comparatively better. Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams has 1.5 sacks. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown also brought the speed as he returned from a knee injury. Now sitting at 4-5-1, the Cowboys look forward to strengthening their playoff chances as they will compete against the Eagles, who are currently at 8-2.

Despite all this, one more thing that took everybody’s attention was CeeDee Lamb’s benching. Let’s find out what exactly happened.

Why was CeeDee Lamb benched?

The chaos took place when the Cowboys took the field, but their two star receivers were absent. Lamb and Pickens were not present when the Cowboys took their opening drive. The head coach made his stance clear later, when reporters asked him about the reason behind this move.

“Made a coach’s decision. There were some things that were missed,” he said, as reported by Bobby Belt of 105.3 The Fan.

He gave a very vague response, which forces us to look at other reports that claim that the two players broke the curfew in Vegas and were spotted in the hotel lobby after their cutoff time.

As FOX Sports Radio and CFO Sports host Jordan Michael Tucker explained on X, “Fine: Ceedee and Pickens got caught out last night in Vegas. Broke curfew and got caught; they are all on camera in the lobby. Schotty disciplined them as he should.”

However, the two were not absent for long; they returned to the field, which proves that it was just a disciplinary move rather than a prolonged punishment for the pair. Moving forward, it will be interesting to watch how well the Cowboys capitalize on this win.
