The Dallas Cowboys’ offense, led by quarterback Dak Prescott, has been on a roll this season. But will that be the case during the particularly difficult set of games they’ll be playing from late November to early December?

“The sky is the limit,” he said. He doesn’t think there’s any reason that Dallas’ offense cannot be unstoppable by that time. As for their opponents during that stretch, they’ll be the Philadelphia Eagles (Week 12), the Kansas City Chiefs (Week 13), and the Detroit Lions (Week 14).

Through seven games, Prescott has completed 185 of 259 passes for a 71.4% completion rate, totaling 1,881 yards, an average of 268.7 yards per game. He’s thrown 16 touchdowns against just three interceptions and added 56 rushing yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Prescott has been sharp and steady, effectively leading the Cowboys’ offense, though sustaining this level of production for the rest of the season remains a key challenge.

The return of ace receiver CeeDee Lamb has also given them wings. He recorded a 74-yard touchdown against the Washington Commanders in the Week 7 game, which increased their lead to 17-8 in the first half. “There’s some meat on the bone that we left out there. I feel like we can get better,” the receiver said after the week 7 victory. Then there’s the case of George Pickens.

Pickens has been great for the franchise. In 7 games, he has caught 36 passes out of 54 targets for 607 yards (86.7 yards per game). He is leading the Cowboys’ receiving corps with 6 touchdowns, and that makes it clear that he is as important in the passing game for Prescott as Lamb.

Owner and GM Jerry Jones didn’t even pay attention to Pickens’ agent being David Mulugheta, who was also Micah Parsons‘ agent. Jones clarified that Pickens could very well get a bigger deal next year, as he has exceeded expectations.

Regarding the pressure, there are multiple angles to it.

Last year, Dak Prescott injured his hamstring in Week 9. The Cowboys failed to qualify for the playoffs. Moreover, they haven’t won or even played in the NFC Championship or Super Bowl in the last 3 decades. Now, the quarterback wants his locker room to step up. That’s the only way to gain some edge.

Dak Prescott wants the locker room to perform

The offense has performed wonderfully at home. In the 3 games they have played at the AT&T Stadium, they have scored 40 or more points. But on the road, they have struggled, losing 3 of 4 games and not touching the 40-point mark ever. So if they want to keep their winning record intact, they need to perform at the same level.

“I don’t see why not… that’s definitely our standard and something that we talk about as a group. It’s not necessarily putting pressure on us, but it’s just the way that we work and the players that we have,” the signal caller said while talking about them being the best.

The only silver lining during the challenging stretch is that they play 2 of those 3 games at AT&T Stadium. After losing the Week 6 game by 27-30 to the Carolina Panthers, they rebounded strongly, particularly on defense.

The Cowboys’ defense looked much better than in recent weeks. Cornerback DaRon Bland made the biggest play of the game, a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown. Linebackers Kenneth Murray Jr. recorded 9 tackles (6 solo), and Shemar James tackled the rivals 9 times (4 solo). Both also had a sack each. But the highlight was their offense.

The Cowboys ran the ball really well. Javonte Williams was the star, rushing 19 times for 116 yards and one touchdown. He broke several tackles and kept the offense moving. In the receiving game, CeeDee Lamb was electric for Dallas. He caught 5 passes for 110 yards, including that 74-yard touchdown. Tight end Jake Ferguson also had a big game, catching 7 passes and scoring two touchdowns.

“With good fortune and good health, I don’t see why this group won’t be one of the best,” Prescott added while keeping high expectations.

With such big glimpses of talent, they have all the skill and potential to make it to the playoffs. If Dak Prescott keeps leading them the same way, they can even win the Super Bowl.
