Luka suffers a left hamstring injury vs the OKC

During Thursday’s game between the Lakers and OKC, Luka pulled his left hamstring, leaving fans anxious. Earlier during the first half of the game, Dončić felt something was wrong with his hamstring, which was taken care of during the break. However, his situation worsened during the third quarter.

On his final play of the game, with 7:39 left, Luka spun before trying to go up for a shot against Oklahoma’s Jalen Williams. However, there was no contact made before Dončić stopped lying on the ground as he winced in pain. Though he needed assistance from the training staff, he was able to walk off the court, ending the game with 12 points on 3-for-10 shooting, plus seven assists and six turnovers.

Dončić left the game for good after sustaining his injury, and coach JJ Redick said he will undergo an MRI. Dr. Evan Jeffries, while talking about Luka’s injury, stressed that if it’s a hamstring strain, the Lakers star can easily miss six weeks, effectively ending his season. Jeffries also mentioned that even for a Grade I hamstring injury, it will easily take Luka 1-2 weeks to recover.

Right now, the Lakers will not play any more games until Sunday, with their schedule fixed against the Dallas Mavericks. For now, it also remains to be seen if the injury will affect the cornhole showdown. Should there be any updates, fans will be notified accordingly.
