Dak Prescott Raises $2.7M for Children’s Fund as Cowboys QB Continues Fight Against Cancer Following Early Loss

Dak Prescott has been making the best use of this offseason! The Dallas Cowboys quarterback remains determined to give back to the community. Following his mother Peggy’s loss due to colon cancer in 2013, the 30-year-old NFL player has been relentlessly helping cancer patients, with a particular focus on children.
Recently, after collaborating with former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman for the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala as an Honorary Chair, Prescott raised $2.7M for the Children’s Fund, continuing to battle against cancer.
Taking to its official Instagram page, Texas’s Children’s Cancer Fund appreciated Dak Prescott’s charitable initiative, as he donated the amount for pediatric cancer research, aiming to diagnose cancer at an early stage in kids. Along with posting the short clip from the 34th Annual Gala event that was held on April 19, Texas CCF revealed the fund details for pediatric cancer research. The post caption reads “Together, we raised an extraordinary $2.7 million for pediatric cancer research 💫 #AKnightToRemember #Grateful #LetsCureKidsCancer #BetterTogether #FactFriday #TexasCCF”.”

23 cancer survivor kids participated in the fashion show during the event and displayed their incredible courage and strength with an iconic style. The young cancer patients rocked the stage, inspiring the other cancer patients.

Prescott attended the event with the retired NFL QB Troy Aikman as Honorary Chair alongside Gala Chair Emberli Pridham, cheering the courage of the brave children at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. He has enthusiastically volunteered to contribute to the society while maintaining the memory of his mother.
Honoring Peggy’s legacy: Dak’s philanthropic works
Dak shared a very close bond with his late mother, Peggy. After his mother’s death, he founded a foundation in her memory, aiming to work on cancer research. For his charitable work, Dak Prescott was awarded with the Walter Payton Man of the Year in February 2022, to contribute his bid in cancer research.

Earlier, Dak disclosed the impact of his late mom on his life, stating, “I want to acknowledge the person who has had the biggest influence on my life, my mother, Peggy. My mother was, and still is my moral compass. And through my own charitable contributions, I seek to share her strength and courage with the world.”
