Dalton Schultz recently cracked a deal with the Houston Texans just before the franchise tag deadline. Despite rumored discontent with Jerry Jones’ team, Schultz appears to be enjoying a happy and blissful off-field life. Dalton Schultz is happily married to his college sweetheart Laurel Heinrich. Together they have two kids (a son and a daughter), Theodore James Schultz (29 July 2018) and Savannah Chase Schultz (27 February 2021).

They tied the knot in a secret ceremony during the pandemic on July 6th, 2020. Despite not going as planned, Schultz expressed joy about marrying his high school sweetheart on Instagram. Sharing an adorable photo showing off the wedding rings, he wrote, “We couldn’t do it the exact way we wanted to but like the many curveballs in our relationship, we knocked it out of the park.

Heinrich, a San Francisco State University graduate in Political Science and Government, worked in various roles, including office assistant, hostess, server, and cashier. As per reports, her last job was as a nanny with Trusted Child Care from 2017 to 2018. On Instagram, Laurel shared snippets of their family life with her nearly 4k followers.

Schultz, a Stanford University computer science graduate, interestingly has his gaming room with two PCs, one for gaming and one for streaming. It took two to three years for Schultz to build and include four monitors, two keyboards, an Xbox controller, a Shure microphone, and a Sony camera. The athlete also has set up one gaming room for his wife.

In an early interview, Schultz said, “I built my wife a computer and we play Fortnite together. I’ve made her a gamer, she’s watching Fortnite streams on TikTok now.” Amidst his off-field blessed life, the 27-year-old probably was through a rough patch with the Cowboys, which might have prompted him to re-sign with the Texans recently.

Dalton Schultz secured a 3-year $36 million contract extension with $23.5 million guaranteed. He spent his first-season stint with the Texans and later joined the Cowboys, where he spent 5-years, before rejoining Houston. Reflecting on his time with the Cowboys, Schultz described it as a bit chaotic like a zoo, with constant distractions at the practice facility.

He emphasized the difference in focus on football in Houston compared to the bustling environment in Dallas. The 27-year-old expressed, “(Dallas is) literally a zoo, dude. There’s people tapping on the glass trying to get people’s attention while they’re doing power cleans or whatever. It’s different. That’s the brand that they’ve built, that’s what (owner) Jerry Jones likes, that’s the way that they run things and there’s nothing wrong with that.

He continued, “You don’t realize how many eyeballs and how much that can maybe distract in the locker room, just being in the facility until you go somewhere else and you’re like, ‘Holy crap, there’s none of that’.” Schultz’s first season with the Texans was fun, playing alongside QB CJ Stroud. Their strong connection contributed significantly to the team’s success, clinching an AFC South title, and securing a playoff victory in the first round.
