Dan Quinn believes “Jayden Daniels isn’t positioned for success”

Quinn expressed satisfaction with the progress he’s seen from Daniels and the other quarterbacks in handling these coverages. He noted that witnessing this development is encouraging, hinting at the players’ ability to adapt and perform under varying defensive schemes. He further added, “I think what pumps not only off the tape here what you guys don’t see in the meeting room is just the competitive nature and the learning and the command that he has already.”

However, concerns about Daniels’ playing style and the team’s offensive line persist. Many worried about Daniels’ tendency to take hits, which could lead to long-term injuries. Additionally, concerns were raised about the Commanders’ offensive line, which some believe lacks elite talent. Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com expressed concern about Daniels’ potential for success, citing the Commanders’ offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, and the team’s offensive line as potential obstacles. He said, “I worry Jayden Daniels isn’t positioned for success,”

Quinn was pleased with Jayden for not “wasting a second”

He went straight to Washington D.C. to meet the team, talk to the media, and get his hands on the playbook. Then, he flew back home with his family. But here’s the kicker: while everyone else was sleeping on the flight, he was studying the playbook and practicing the play calls. That’s some serious dedication!

Coach Quinn was really impressed when he heard about this. He said, “He wasn’t wasting a second. If nothing else, there’s an urgency and a work ethic that I thought was gonna be really strong.” And you know what? All that hard work paid off. Daniels caught the attention of his coaches and earned himself a spot on the first team right away.

Dan said, “What I saw on the field was pretty much exactly what we saw (in the pre-draft cycle). But what you don’t see on the tape is how much this guy loves football. He works so hard at it. It’s one of the things that makes my heart smile about him”

Therefore, With Quinn’s support and guidance, along with Daniels’ relentless drive, the Commanders have reason to be optimistic about their quarterback’s bright future in the league.
