Life did not start easily for actor Daniel Durant. However, he persevered and has achieved immense success despite being differently abled. And now the Academy Award-winning “CODA” actor is set to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl LVIII in American Sign Language. But he couldn’t have reached this pinnacle without the support of his adoptive mothers!

Daniel Durant: lucky to have his moms
Durant was born into a troubled home. His biological mother was also deaf and suffered from substance dependency, while his father dealt with alcohol issues. Daniel was just 18 months old when his birth mother gave him to his paternal aunt, Lori Durant. Later on, she married Mary Engels, and they became a trio.

Based in Minnesota, the Durant family supported Daniel’s dreams of becoming an actor from a young age. Not only did the mothers continue with their professions but motivated Daniel to reach for his dreams.

Daniel will be performing the National Anthem in ASL while “Queen of Country Music” Reba McEntire will be singing it. The 58th edition of the Super Bowl is going to be televised on CBS. And multiple big-name artists will be gracing the stage.
