Aaron Rodgers is getting the band back together in Jets as Davante Adams becomes the latest former Packers to join him in New York. After Allen Lazard’s signing during the offseason, Rodgers would have yet another familiar face in his offense. Well, the four-time NFL MVP also said that he is “really excited” to have Adams on his team while calling him a “dear friend.”

Giving an exclusive to Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers had a big smile on his face while slowly turning his camera into Adams. Yes, the Raiders WR has already reunited with A-Rod, as the Jets QB showed him lurking behind the camera with a football in his hand. He even sent out a strong message saying, “It’s on us now. We’re going all in.”

This is yet another major move after sacking Robert Saleh last week, indicating their hope to turn this season around. Well, Saleh’s sacking didn’t really offer any boost to the Jets, as they lost their third consecutive game on Monday. Expressing his disappointment, Rodgers shared, “It was a crappy day yesterday, obviously. We had a real good chance to get to 3-3 and win a home game, kind of gave that one away.”

However, Rodgers’ day did get a little happier when he received a phone call from Adams, “I was pissed, driving home, through traffic, had a couple messages. I was just not in the mood to talk to anybody. Got home, and Tae called me and texted me, so I finally called him back.” Adams, who has missed his last three games this season due to a hamstring injury, was asked about his thoughts on joining the Jets, “Fortunately, I’ll be able to roll. I’m sure there’s a few little nuances. But for the most part, a lot of the same verbiage. Still the same OG right here, so should be able to pick up where we left off. That’s the idea.”

After this latest addition to Rodgers’ Jets in mid-season, can he and Adams strike a lighting partnership, thereby offering an instant boost to their hopes of making it to the playoffs?

Can Davante Adams change the Jets fortunes this season?

Over the eight seasons, Aaron Rodgers and Adams spent together in Green Bay, they combined for a whopping 622 catches for 7,590 yards with 69 TDs. During those eight years with Adams catching A-Rod’s passes, he collected three of his four NFL MVP awards. Even in 2020, Adams was simply untouchable as he finished with 18 TDs to lead the charts that season.

Going back to last year, Adams caught 103 passes for 1,516 yards and 14 TDs, thereby putting him among the best receivers in the league. However, this season, the former Packers have only managed 18 catches for 209 yards with the Raiders. Although he hasn’t played more than 3 games this year due to a hamstring injury, he could help Rodgers up his game.

For the six games Aaron Rodgers has played in green and white this season, he hasn’t completed more than 300 yards. Even his team is averaging only 217.2 passing yards per game. But all of those numbers could change if Adams and Rodgers manage to discover their Packers flair in New York.

Will the six-time Pro Bowler live up to his expectations in New York? Or will this latest move to salvage the Jets’ season fail, thereby ending any hopes of making it back to the playoffs? Guess we will find out as Adams reunites with old friends in New York.
