Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has kept the media speculating since it came out he’s seeking a transfer. General whispers and insider comments revealed the Jets, Saints, and Steelers to be likely candidates. Not to mention Adams’ shenanigans on social media baiting fans. We had news yesterday that we can expect more concrete information within “the next 24-48 hours.” Well, it’s been 24 hours, we might have to wait 24 more.

Well, we’ve had grounds for further speculation after Davante Adams’ wife, Devanne Vilarreal’s Instagram story last night. The picture is essentially a throwback, her and the wives of several former-Green Bay Packers players. The caption reads “Green Bay Girls,” and talks about how much everyone’s families have grown. A seemingly innocuous post, but interesting timing. Could this be hinting at a potential return to the Packers side for Adams?

Adams is well known for his very successful 8-year run with the Packers, from 2014 to 21. The Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams partnership was a thing of dreams, and the two have often expressed admiration for each other. However, Rodgers has been with the New York Jets since last year, and really he’d be the biggest reason for Adams to want to go over. Maybe they’re just waiting for news of Adams’ recovery from his hamstring injury. The injury’s kept him off the field for the last two Raiders games, and they’ve suffered for it. The Jets will want him immediately fresh and ready to play.

But then there’s the constant and consistent rumors that the Pittsburgh Steelers are making aggressive moves too. Under young Justin Fields’ leadership, the Steelers started strong, but have started to have struggles with their offense of late. There’s a possibility they might switch to Russell Wilson. Maybe the Steelers will invest heavy in their offense and bring in Adams too? Davante Adams is no cheap proposition after all. His 2022 5-year $140 million contract was the most expensive for a wide receiver ever at the time. And he’s still owed $13.5 million for this season, which we’re sure the Raiders aren’t keen on paying him. Maybe a contract adjustment lies in his future?

Besides these teams, there was, of course, his taunting last week.

According to NFL Insider Josina Anderson, there was nothing to the rumors at all! It was just Adams playing with everyone, being a troll in the old internet parlance. The Baltimore Ravens does not seem to be Adams’ destination, but is he going to the Packers? Time will tell, and it won’t be long now before we know for sure.
