This season, Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku performed solidly in the opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. But, not spectacularly. 3 receptions, 6 targets, 37 yards. No touchdowns. Sure, he was more involved, but he didn’t score as big. Unpromising as that may be, let’s not forget that he’s recovering from several injuries from last year. Ankle, knee, hamstring. It all takes a toll on a player, like it or not. It would take some time to get back to the 81 catches for 882 yards and 6 TDs from 2023.

Not to mention that the Browns’ quarterback situation and offensive scheme have seen some changes. Veteran Joe Flacco was named the starter for this season, which displaced Kenny Pickett and pushed rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders into backup and developmental roles. Eventually, it affects how often and how the 6’4 TE is targeted. Keeping all that aside, there is no doubt that Djoku is still popular among Browns fans. And the conversation about who his siblings are never fails to come up.
