Tyreek Hill is stepping up for his fellow competitor! Demarcus Robinson, who has become a key part of the Rams’ passing game, is getting another shot to stick with a team for a second contract. After showcasing his skills as a supporting player with the Chiefs, Robinson has secured a deal to remain with the Rams.

Many thought that he would move into free agency. But with just a few weeks left for the deadline, his squad has given him a fresh lease of life.

Tyreek Hill calls out Rams for underpaying Robinson

In a move that highlights his value to the team, Robinson has agreed to a one-year, $5 million contract to stay in Los Angeles. Having established himself as a regular target in the Rams’ passing attack, Robinson will continue to work alongside emerging talents like Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp in the upcoming season. This new deal represents a significant pay raise for Robinson, who earned just $1.17 million in 2023.

Tyreek Hill and Robinson may be rivals on the field, but off the field, all rivalry is forgotten. In fact, he took to X to say that Robinson actually deserved more. “My boy D-Rob been like that stop playing with him … he deserves more 😅”. Both players were actually drafted in the same year in 2016.

But Tyreek quickly emerged as the better of the two. In the current season, Tyreek lapped up 119 receptions while Robinson managed only 26. The “Cheetah” recorded 1,799 yards, while Robinson recorded almost one-fifth of that at 371. But then Tyreek is of a different breed entirely.

However, the contract extension means that the Rams sure see something special in him.

Robinson to be the Rams’ third favorite WR

With the Rams, Demarcus Robinson has made a note-worthy mark already. He tallied 26 receptions for 371 yards and four touchdowns. His chemistry with QB Matthew Stafford was palpable, evident in his four straight games with a touchdown reception.

At 29 years old, Robinson has traversed various teams in the NFL, previously suiting up for the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens before joining the Rams on a veteran-minimum deal last season. Despite joining midseason, he quickly became a valuable starter, contributing to the team’s 10-7 finish and playoff run.

Originally drafted by KC in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Robinson’s journey includes stints with the Raiders in 2022 and a notable season with the Ravens, where he recorded a career-high 48 receptions for 458 yards and two touchdowns. Now with the Rams, Robinson finds himself in a competitive wideout group led by Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. It seems that he’ll have to settle with being the squad’s third option for the time being.
