DeSean Jackson-Like Xavier Worthy Will ‘Pleasantly Surprise’ With His Football Skills, Says Former Chiefs TE

Former Chiefs TE  Jason Dunn shared his views on Xavier Worthy recently. Worthy’s talent and dedication earned him three All-Big 12 honors during his college football career. The Kansas City Chiefs drafted the standout player for the Texas Longhorns with the 28th overall pick in the first round.

Jason expressed his belief in Xavier’s abilities in an interview, saying “he understands football”. Dunn further went on to point out some similarities between Worthy and Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

The former Chiefs’ tight end stated, “Xavier Worthy just based on his, that at the interview? I think he’s going to have a big impact because it seems like he understands football, seems like he wants to get better in his football IQ.” Jackson believes that Worthy could achieve at least 62 catches, 912 yards, two touchdowns, 440 punt return yards, and one return for a touchdown in his rookie season.

Drawing a comparison with DeSean, he said, “So here’s the guy who’s fast like, like DeSean Jackson and you see what he got. Xavier Worthy can do at least this.” And it’s not only Dunn who believes in Worthy, Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid also stated that he intends to utilize Xavier’s skills as much as possible.

But Dunn din’t just stop there, he further shed light on Worthy’s proficiency in running a various range of routes and drew comparisons to Chiefs’ wide receiver, Hollywood Brown. While the Chiefs are happy to welcome Xavier, the 21-year-old is equally excited. And this is evident with the recent tattoo he got to commemorate his draft.

Recently the 6-foot-1 WR shared a video flaunting his new tattoo on TikTok. The tattoo features the Kansas City Chiefs’ logo above Worthy’s draft pick “R: 1 P: 28“. For Xavier, getting his draft pick tattooed on his body is more than just a permanent reminder of his achievement. He is showing his dedication and commitment to his new team through the tattoo.

During the combine, he set a record with a 40-yard-dash time of 4.21 seconds. The WR’s performance even garnered a positive reaction from Chiefs’ star QB Patrick Mahomes. As Xavier joins the team’s roster, they will surely have high hopes from the rookie. With his talent, determination, and now, a new tattoo, Xavier seems equally ready to make his mark in the NFL.
