Deshaun Watson‘s re-ruptured injury was a big blow to the Browns in 2024. Doctors predicted him to miss the 2025 season, but Watson denied this and hopes to return. But while people scrutinize Watson’s comeback, the Browns suffer a significant setback. A star defender is under the shadow of a huge problem, and that’s why Deshaun Watson’s close mate sent a strong message for the Browns player on the Reserved PUP list.
Browns star tight end, David Njoku, sent a strong message to injured linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on May 13. The original post shared by Jeremiah was emotional yet powerful. Jeremiah penned, “From day one, you embraced me as more than a player, but also as a brother and young man with purpose.” He also added, “While I won’t suit up this season, I’m focused on what I can control — my healing, my mindset and my faith. The body may rest, but the calling never sleeps.” Well, he didn’t stop there. He continued to show his build while adding that he focuses on mindset, faith, and his recovery.

He further said, “I’m focused on what I can control- my healing, my mindset, and my faith. I don’t know what’s next, but I’ll continue trusting my medical team, serving the community, and backing my brothers on the field.” So, after his message, Njoku wrote a two-word message, “True Strength.” Njoku and Owusu-Koramoah have spent four years together in the Browns locker room.

Njoku made it into the NFL through the 2017 NFL draft and never let the front office think about his trade. After his four years in the team, Owusu-Koramoah joined in 2021 as the 52nd pick in the 2nd round of the draft. They have been through a lot in the building and share a lot of memories. That’s why Jeremiah’s season-ending injury hurt him a lot.
Deshaun Watson’s LB gonna miss the entire 2025 season
On May 11, the Browns gave a shocking update that Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is gonna miss the 2025 season. The reason was also horrifying, as he had hurt his neck badly. Yeah, Jeremiah suffered the same injury in October 2024 when he was playing against the Ravens. Though everyone thought he would catch up to the team in the week 1 game, the Brown GM announced that he would not be on the roster for 2025.

“Jeremiah’s health is of the utmost importance to us, and although he has made progress towards recovery, we’ve made the decision to place him on Reserve/PUP, which means he will not play football during the 2025 season.” Andrew Berry said this in the team’s statement on Monday. But this was not his first injury. In October 2021, he had a pedal ankle sprain. Then, in December 2022, he had a foot injury. But that 2024 neck injury was nasty.
What’s your perspective on:
Can the Browns overcome these setbacks, or is their 2025 season already doomed?
Have an interesting take?
In the 2024 season, he appeared in only 8 games due to injury. However, during those limited outings, he successfully tackled 61 offensive players, including 39 solo tackles. That showcased his strength, precision, and defensive instincts. Despite his shortened season, his impact was undeniable and deeply felt by both teammates and fans.
