Dawg Pound is celebrating. The Browns did it. Though no one expected a win in the week 8 matchup against the Ravens as Deshaun Watson was out with an injury, his backup quarterback Jameis Winston believed in himself and won the game for them. He was magical.

The QB was ecstatic after the 29-24 win. He quoted Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ song while talking to Amanda Balionis after the game and called it an inspiration. Winston said, “There’s a white boy from Detroit that I really admire named Eminem. He said, you only get one shot, do not miss the chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.

It was his first starting game since 2022. And he showed confidence right from the start. Before the game, Winston said he had unwavering confidence, and later, the QB proved it. He was competing against last season’s MVP Lamar Jackson. But he performed better than him. While Jackson had 23 of 38 passes (61% completion rate) with 289 yards and 2 touchdowns, Winston had 27 of 41 passes (65% completion rate) with 341 yards and 3 touchdowns.

While talking after the win, Jameis Winston was humble. He credited God for the win and also thanked his offensive and defensive lines for controlling the key moments of the game and not giving up. Last but not least, the QB also thanked the fans for coming up and supporting the team during the tough times.

However, the testing times are far from over. After today’s win, they are now at a 2-6 win-loss record.

Have the Browns found a perfect quarterback in Jameis Winston?

Coming into week 8, the Ravens had a 5-win streak while the Browns had lost 6 games in a row. Dawg Pound was also ruing Deshaun Watson’s injury, who has been ruled out by an Achilles injury. Hence, with no other option available, the team decided to go ahead with Jameis Winston.

He is a seasoned player in the league. The 30-year-old has plied his trade with the Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints before arriving at the Browns in the early offseason this year. Also, in today’s game, he had better stats than Deshaun Watson. Watson hasn’t thrown for 300+ yards in 19 games for Browns so far while Winston did it in today’s game itself.
