The Raiders are still below the other 3o teams. Only the Giants have the same 2-12 win-loss record. During the week 15 game against the Falcons, they were struggling on the field and lost 9-15. The outcome brought disappointment for QB Desmond Ridder and head coach Antonio Pierce as this was their 10th consecutive loss of the 2024 season.

During the post-game conference, Ridder expressed his frustration on the loss saying, “We’re just searching for a win, searching for positive energy. We fight every single week, but we just keep saying we fight. But just nothing’s happening to where we can go push over the edge and get a win. At the end of the day, we all got to be better. I got to be better, O-line, D-line, offense, defense, I mean special teams. We just got to be better.” The locker room must be listening. But they are also not happy with the loss.

Against the Falcons, the Raiders were better at throwing the ball. But they failed to convert into scores. Compared to the Falcons’ 93 passing yards, the Silver and the Black had 184 passing yards. The Falcons overwhelmingly dominated them in the rushing game. Dirty Birds recorded 168 rushing yards, but the Raiders only had 65 rushing yards. Even HC Antonio Pierce was angry.

He threw his locker room into the bus during the post-game conference, saying, “Listen man, just we’re not winning, what else to tell y’all you know, what I mean, we’re not winning do I want to win hell yeah, I want to win.” Even the fans want the same thing. But things aren’t well at the franchise.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the owner, Mark Davis, decides to shuffle his staff. Even they could fire the head coach as well. It’s crazy.

Raiders’ owner is not on the same page as Antonio Pierce

NFL insider Adam Schefter claimed on the December 16 episode of the Pat McAfee Show that Mark Davis and the Raiders HC have some differences. Citing the owners’ meeting, he revealed, “Mark Davis had the chance to stand behind Antonio Pierce at the owners meetings and he didn’t. It didn’t sound like he is an absolute lock to be back with the Raiders at all.” That’s wild.

Antonio Pierce would be hoping to stay at the franchise. But the performance this year has been a genuine issue. Last year, he took the reins after week 9 and led them to a 5-4 record. But this year, it has been a dismal 2-12. It would be their 3rd consecutive season in which they would not play in the postseason.

The fans had high hopes of ending their 4 decade long Super Bowl drought. But the wait will continue. Everyone is eager to see the changes they will make in the offseason. They can’t afford to have a similar performance in the 2025 season.
