The Broncos coach, Sean Payton, is reportedly considering making a major change to his squad! During a Christmas game, the Broncos lost by a score of 23-16 to the New England Patriots, jeopardizing their playoff hopes. As a result of this loss and another one before it, Sean Payton is considering benching his star QB, Russell Wilson. However, this decision could leave Wilson’s future with the team uncertain.

Initially, it was believed that the Denver Broncos were planning to cut Russell Wilson because they didn’t want to pay him additional money for his contract. However, Sean Payton has clarified that this move isn’t for financial reasons. Instead, the team is making this decision to prepare for a favorable outcome in the future. The head coach emphasized this decision during their recent press conference.

The Denver Broncos signed Jarrett Stidham to a two-year deal worth $10 million during the offseason. Stidham started his NFL career as a successor to Tom Brady, picked 133rd overall by the New England Patriots. He was later drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17 of the 2022 season. Jarrett Stidham will be the starting QB for the Broncos, making it his third team as a starter.

Stidham has thrown six touchdowns and seven interceptions in his three years as a starter in the NFL. Despite this, Payton, the coach of the Broncos, seems to be impressed with Stidham’s performance with his previous teams.
