Despite Activating Geno Smith, Seahawks Yet to Name a Starting QB for Eagles Clash

The Seattle Seahawks are yet to declare their starting quarterback in the week 15 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Their star quarterback Geno Smith was out for the week 14 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers due to injury. Moreover, his presence in the week 15 matchup remained questionable. But to the Seahawks’ relief, Smith is expected to be available to make a comeback to the gridiron in the matchup against the Eagles.

The Seahawks are desperate to end their four-game consecutive defeats. And their starting QB in today’s game will play a pivotal role in deciding their playoff fate.

NFL insider, Adam Schefter took to his Twitter account to share the news that Geno Smith might not be playing as a starting QB for the Seahawks in the crucial matchup. While Smith is active for the clash, the Seahawks haven’t declared him as their starting quarterback against the Eagles yet.

Schefter highlighted the same as he wrote, “Just because Geno Smith is active does not mean he’s starting. The Seahawks are dressing three QBs tonight but have not announced a starter.Amidst the anticipating surges around the Seahawks’ starting quarterback, who will take the lead, and will the Seahawks stay intact in this race to playoffs?

Seahawks against the Eagles

Geno Smith played 12 games this season, boasting  2,918 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Seahawks are in the third position of the NFC West division, with six victories and seven defeats. To stay intact in the race to playoffs, the Seahawks will have to ensure this victory against the Eagles. Moreover, the Seahawks have two more QBs who could take the lead of the team. QB Drew Lock and Sean Mannion were seen warming up before the game, adding to the anticipation surrounding the Seahawks starting QB.

Meanwhile, the Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts is suffering from an illness. For the Eagles, QB Marcus Mariota and Tanner McKee were seen on the field going for a few runs. However, only the time unfolds what holds for both these franchises. The Eagles are reigning the NFC East division with ten victories and three defeats so far.
