The Kelce clan found themselves at the heart of a media whirlwind during the 2023 season. It happened when pop sensation Taylor Swift was spotted at the Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears game at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24. And then, the spotlight wasn’t just on Travis, but it enveloped his entire family. Kylie, in particular, who prefers to stay out of the limelight, found herself surrounded by a lot of curiosity.

Probably addressing the same, during a Monday morning appearance on the Today Show, Kylie brought to light her own “first date” story. She also mused how she would have felt if her relationship with Kelce had been under public scrutiny.

Travis and Swift’s relationship was under the constant gaze of the cameras. It stood in stark contrast to the beginnings of Jason and Kylie Kelce’s relationship. When quizzed about her thoughts on hypothetical publicity around her first date with Jason, Kylie said. “There’s no video evidence of that and I’m so glad.”

Nonetheless, she earnestly narrated the story of her first date with the former Eagles star. The couple actually connected on Tinder and decided to have their first date at a local bar. However, the evening took an unexpected turn when Jason, having perhaps indulged “a little too much”, dozed off at the table.

Despite the unconventional start, Kylie saw something worth pursuing beyond that initial mishap. She explained, “Because we had talked up to that point. Like had very nice banter. And the next day he launched a full apology. ‘I’m so sorry, we should try that again.’ And I was like,  ‘Okay.'”

The instant connection which Jason described as “love at first sight” for him and the awareness from the former professional’s side regarding his “not the best first impression” probably added to the reasons which initiated Kylie to give Jason another chance. Concerning their second meeting, the mother of three recalled, “He did much better that time.” In a documentary called Kelce by Amazon Prime, she spilled more details about their first date.

Kylie’s friends thought Jason was catfishing her

Jason and Kylie’s romance had a interesting storyline. In a candid revelation within the documentary, Kylie revealed that initially, she was unaware that Jason was an NFL player. “None of his pictures showed Eagles football,” she noted. The intrigue began when Kylie and her friends thought Jason’s profile seemed vaguely familiar. A quick online search later, they were surprised to find that he was an Eagles player. They told him, “It can’t be him; it’s a catfish.”

Despite the uncertainty, Kylie decided to take a leap of faith. She decided to meet Jason at a local bar as he had suggested. “It would be hilarious either way,” she thought, whether she’d meet the real Eagles player or an imposter. The meeting turned out to be anything but ordinary for both. Jason vividly recalled Kylie’s entrance, describing her as “the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” The connection was instant, with Jason admitting, “Right away when she walks in the door, it was very much like love at first sight.”
