The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the busiest teams in the 2024 NFL offseason. Within a week, they signed their two quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. But it seems the team hasn’t completed its additions yet. The Steelers are in serious search of finding the pieces to their puzzle in their roster. After trading their now ex-quarterback Kenny Pickett, they have shifted towards the wide receiver role, as recently revealed by an NFL insider.

In a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac joined the show to discuss the Steelers’ potential trades and ongoing conditions. Dulac emphasized that after the Steelers’ team president Art Rooney II, expressed impatience with the lack of playoff success, there’s a sense of urgency to make significant moves.

So, the focus is on winning the playoff games rather than settling for a 10-7 record. Dulac mentioned, “That was a directive pretty much from Rooney to Omar Khan and Mike Tomlin to not be satisfied with 10 and seven. We need to do something and they are doing something. And I don’t think they’re done.”

Despite being a consistent playoff team, the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game in seven years, which is unacceptable for Pittsburgh fans, for a franchise with a rich history like theirs. Eisen further asked on Dulac’s remarks, “So when you say they’re not done, you mean bringing in a receiver named Mike Williams, who they’ll pay more than what the other Mike Williams wanted….or even bigger is?” In his response the NFL insider highlighted the recent moves, including potential acquisitions like Mike Williams, indicating a commitment to change and improvement.

However, he also hinted that there is a probability that it’s not Williams, and it may be a bigger catch than that. Dulac expressed, “Another step that they are going to make and like I said might not even be Mike Williams, it might be a bigger catch if you will no pun intended than that but if they traded Diontae Johnson once again they don’t want hostages they want volunteers and he was a disruptive influence and they weren’t going to tolerate it and so again good for them, we’ll see how it plays out.”

Additionally, the Los Angeles Chargers, Williams’ ex-team, are also interested in re-signing him. Among these teams, the Steelers have been particularly active in the offseason, making significant moves like acquiring quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, as well as adding Van Jefferson to their wide receiver group and trading away Diontae Johnson.
