For weeks, whispers circled around De’Von Achane and Jaylen Waddle possibly being shipped out of South Beach. But when Sunday rolled around, those rumors turned into motivation. Both Achane and Waddle combined for three touchdowns in a shocking 30-13 win over the Buffalo Bills. Then came the post-game moment that everyone had been waiting for.

De’Von Achane finally addressed it. “I feel good, man, I want to be here… I’m at our record. This is where I want to be. I was glad… neither one of us is gone.”

And honestly, his play backed every word up. Achane torched the Bills’ defense with 22 carries for 174 yards. He added 6 catches for 51 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, reminding everyone why he’s one of the fastest backs in the league.

“I feel good. I want to be here. No matter our record, this is where I want to be, and I was glad neither one of us was gone,” Achane also added.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins received serious trade interest in Achane. The speedy 24-year-old was one of the most called-about players in the league. Miami reportedly set the asking price at a second-round pick and more.

That deal never happened, partly because Achane is in a contract year and expected to cash in soon. Still, teams around the league made sure to check in.

However, after the game, head coach Mike McDaniel also addressed the situation.

“I think the main thing is that I’ve never once thought about those dudes not as Dolphins, and it’s only healthy business not to turn your phone off, but I think it’s pretty status quo. I wish they reported every person that was inquired about across the league, and it would dilute that as a headline.”

In short, the Dolphins aren’t selling. But the rumors don’t end here, as there is a report that suggests there might be multiple teams eyeing Achane’s situation.

Three potential suitors for De’Von Achane

De’Von Achane was one of the most talked-about names behind Breece Hall at the trade deadline. Both stars stayed. However, after Achane’s huge performance against the Bills, plenty of front offices are rethinking their choices.

As reporter Wynston Wilcox noted, there are three teams that won’t want to miss out on Achane a second time.

First up, the Chicago Bears. They know their offense needs juice, especially on the ground.

Achane fits that need perfectly. He’s explosive, shifty, and a legit threat catching passes out of the backfield. Sure, D’Andre Swift has been serviceable, but he’s not Achane. Chicago doesn’t have to go all-in right now, but they should at least explore what adding that kind of speed could do for them next season.

Then, there’s the Kansas City Chiefs. Fans have seen their offense sputter more than usual this year. They were tied to Breece Hall at one point, and odds are, Achane was on their radar too.

Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco have struggled to carry the load, and the offensive line hasn’t exactly helped. When your quarterback leads your team in rushing yards at one point, that says a lot.

So, if Kansas City wants to get back to being that team, a dynamic back like Achane is what they’re missing.

Lastly, the Los Angeles Chargers. The Bolts are short-handed at running back, with their top two guys on IR. Najee Harris might be gone soon, and Omarion Hampton hasn’t been healthy.

Achane would give Justin Herbert a reliable weapon and balance this offense out. For a team desperate to find rhythm, he might be the spark they need.
