While talking to reporters on October 17, the receiver made his stance clear on such situations. “I’m just focused on the game, honestly. Focused on the Browns and just trying to get a win,” he said as the Phins are placed 3rd in the AFC East. But he did clarify how he views such rumors.
The player added, “I really don’t see too much. If my agent or anything doesn’t contact me, then I really don’t see too much.” The potential trade rumors intensified after he removed the Miami Dolphins from his Instagram account bio.

The only thing he left in the bio section was his hometown, Houston, Texas, and his contact for business inquiries. According to Bookingagentinfo.com, which lists agents of different athletes, Russell S. and Ian G represent the Phins receiver. But so far, there is no news from the camp. The franchise would be hoping he stays with them. He is their premier WR.
Through his first six games of 2025, Jaylen Waddle has 29 receptions for 390 yards and three touchdowns. For his career, Waddle has 338 catches for 4,519 yards and 23 touchdowns. That’s impressive!

Last year, after he signed the three-year, $84.75 million contract extension, the WR was all over the moon. He told fans that the memories of playing for Miami were special to him. Yet, when it comes to trade, the head coach, Mike McDaniel, had to intervene to shut down the rumors.

Miami HC shuts down Jaylen Waddle rumors
The coach is on the hot seat in 2025. It started with the talks of not leading the team properly. Some rumors even suggested that the players and the coach weren’t on the same page. But McDaniel has also always been clear about keeping his best core group in the building.
“All (trade) rumors about Miami Dolphins players are baseless, currently,” he said as the trade rumors grew stronger everyday. The head coach then revealed how he goes through the same situation every year.
“Personally, this time of year bothers me for the sake of individual players having where he’s playing questioned by rumors.” McDaniel is not ready to trade Jaylen Waddle yet.
However, it doesn’t guarantee that Jaylen Waddle will stay in Miami. Just a couple of weeks ago, we saw the Browns trading their veteran starter, Joe Flacco, to the Bengals.
When the HC Kevin Stefanski was asked about it, even he was surprised, claiming he was not aware of the development until it happened. So, the real decision maker here will be GM Chris Grier and owner Stephen Ross.
As the talks are getting intense now, the rumor mill has churned out another strong information.
NFL insider Benjamin Allbright appeared on the All In podcast with Art Stapleton, where he claimed that the Phins weren’t ready for a trade initially, but things have changed in the last couple of days. They are (reportedly) asking for a 3rd round pick in exchange.
That’s news for the NY Giants, who are desperately looking to add weapons to their arsenal. With rookie QB Jaxson Dart and RB Cam Skattebo firing, one lethal WR can increase their threat by leaps and bounds.
