Former NFL coach Jon Gruden is the hottest name in the coaching circles right now. He has openly told his desire to be an NFL coach again. Teams that have performed poorly this year will be on the lookout for coaches mid-season or after it. One of those teams is the Miami Dolphins. Head coach Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat. But Gruden made a prediction that will make you jump out of your seat.

“The Miami Dolphins, who beat the Buffalo Bills a– last week. I watched the film. They kicked the Buffalo Bills’ a–. They’re going to beat the Washington Commanders at home for a two-game winning streak. And then the New Orleans Saints are going to come to town next week. They’re going to win three in a row,” Gruden said in his hot take on the November 14 episode of Barstool’s Pro Football Talk Show.

However, if you thought that was really bold, Jon Gruden didn’t stop there. He carried on!

“Then they’re gonna go on the road and beat the Jets. That’s going to be four in a row. And then they’re gonna go to Pittsburgh and they’re gonna win five in a row. Get back in playoff contention. And Mike McDaniel’s going to get a 5-year extension and stick it up a lot of people’s a–,” the coach continued.

It was enough to surprise Dan ‘Big Cat’ Katz, former NFL player and analyst Fred Smoot, and host Kayce Smith. The moment was genuinely unexpected. Still, no one can question Jon Gruden’s tape-watching discipline.

As an NFL coach, he used to wake up every day at 3:17 a.m., just to evaluate where his team and players were falling short. Even now, no longer coaching in the league, he still rises around 4:30 a.m. to study film and track how every team is evolving.

Moreover, the Phins have a strong chance of winning their next three games, as their upcoming opponents have performed at a similar or lower level.

However, Jon Gruden’s claim that they’ll win the Week 15 matchup against the Steelers seems bold, considering Pittsburgh remains in the playoff hunt, even if they currently trail the AFC North-leading Ravens.

Even so, there are talks that the Dolphins might be eyeing him as a potential head coach. But based on his statements, he appears to be backing Mike McDaniel. His comments and interests suggest that another team, possibly one with a rookie quarterback, might be a better fit.

Jon Gruden gaining traction in Giants’ coaching search

The Giants suddenly have an opening after firing Brian Daboll following a 2-8 start and an 11th consecutive road loss, the longest such streak in franchise history. Jon Gruden has quickly emerged as one of the most talked-about candidates for the job.

Stephen A. Smith sparked a new debate this week when he pushed for Jon Gruden to become the next head coach of the Giants.

On his SiriusXM show, Smith said the Giants should look at the former coach, even with the controversy tied to his past emails. He argued that Gruden has spent enough time away from coaching and deserves another shot.

“We have to ask ourselves, in the land of second chances, in America, and the people that have been given second chances …Jon Gruden has been a football guy forever. Words hurt, and he shouldn’t have emailed those words, and that’s fine. Does it warrant a death sentence?” Smith said on his show.

He added that many people who have done “significant harm” in real life have still been allowed a second chance. Smith argued that before the scandal, Gruden had the Raiders heading in the right direction. The team went from 4–12 in his first season to 8–8, then started 3–2 before he resigned.

Moreover, Jon’s brother, Jay Gruden, added more fuel to the rumors during an appearance on The Arena Gridiron.

“I think he’d be very interested (in the Giants job). He loves Jaxson Dart,” Jay said. “If you have a young quarterback who is talented like Jaxson, you want a guy like Jon who is going to challenge him every day.”

It’s clear! Jon has an interest in the Giants’ job and is a big fan of rookie QB Jaxson Dart. His offensive system could help the Giants’ struggling offense. Now the question is simple. Would the Giants take the gamble? All in all, the situation is pretty interesting!
