It has now been found out that McDaneil made this announcement while addressing reporters.  He addressed the reporters for the last time before facing the Panthers and went on to share his feelings about Hill joining the team meeting. “It was awesome. It was a real moment where I knew the time he’d probably be in the building and thankfully I’m good on my toes and it was right during the team meeting, so he made an entrance that I hadn’t given the team a heads-up to” McDaneil said.

However, it was not just a random visit by Hill, as he was in the building with a purpose. He wanted the entire team to stay motivated and demonstrate how much he missed them. “He came into the team meeting to make sure everyone was very motivated.” McDaneil further stated, while discussing the meeting. “I’m pretty sure the energy of the team meeting was pretty good, but it definitely gave it an uptick. He was eager to let his teammates know that he missed them, and I was eager to tell his teammates, ‘See? Tyreek misses these team meetings. You guys are lucky.” McDaneil discussed the environment and the importance of positive exchange.

This strong bond between Hill and the team has been built through Hill’s role in the team’s offensive success. In both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Hill caught 234 passes for 3,509 yards and 20 touchdowns. Throughout his years with the Dolphins, Hill has also formed a strong bond with McDaniel, who joined the Dolphins in 2022. This might be the reason why HC was so vocal about Hill’s surprise arrival in the meeting.

HC talked about all the positivity around Hill and the other players, but Hill’s season has come to an end. It will be a major blow for the Dolphins, as the team heavily relied on the Pro Bowl receiver. Hill had already recorded 21 catches for 265 yards with one touchdown before in this season before getting injured on Monday night. Now that he has been sidelined, there are hopes of Jaylen Waddle taking on the role of top receiver for the team.

Tyreek Hill wants to play for the Dolphins after recovery

According to Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, Tyreek would love to play for the Dolphins after recovering from his season-ending injury. Rosenhaus revealed this during his appearance on WSVN 7News sports. This suggests that there is more to Tyreek’s interest in the Dolphins beyond the contract.

“We would love to get together with them after the season and figure something out that works for both sides and continue his career here in Miami. There’s no reason why we can’t,” Rosenhaus said. He even talked about how things might move forward. “We will roll up our sleeves on our end. And if the Dolphins are willing, we will find a number that works for everyone.”

According to Hill’s revised three-year, $90 million contract with the Dolphins, he still has one year left. But if the Dolphins decide to designate him as a post-June 1 release, they will end up saving $36 million on the salary cap but will absorb $15.9 million in dead money.
