The 1-4 Miami Dolphins are clearly under pressure after losing wide receiver Tyreek Hill to injury. But former player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson has made a bizarre trade suggestion that could turn into a potential blockbuster move for the franchise. And it is bringing Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown to the roster.

In a recent segment of The Nightcap, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe touched upon the trade talks surrounding Brown. And Johnson advised that the player should consider joining the Dolphins.

“Come on down here to the AFC East,” the former NFL player said. “We’re gonna get it to you. Come on down here in Florida, bro.” When a visibly shocked Sharpe asked him if he meant pairing him with the Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, he agreed and appeared confident.

“Yeah! We’re gonna throw it,” he said. “We’re gonna try. We’re gonna let that thing rip. And number 11 is available.” Johnson and several others believe that Brown, who teamed up with quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley to lead the Eagles win over the Kansas City Chiefs, could help strengthen Miami’s offense.

Brown’s physical style might pair well with Miami’s timing-focused, motion-heavy offense. And teaming up with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and tight end Darren Waller, his skills make him the No. 1 receiver for Tagovailoa.

And if anything, Brown and the Eagles’ recent controversy have made things more bizarre. The WR has expressed his issues with the lack of targets. In the last 6 games, he has had only one touchdown.

The Eagles’ offense also hasn’t been up to par, which sparked the rumors of Brown’s dissatisfaction, followed by his cryptic message that stirred even more drama. “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” he wrote on X.

Brown even reportedly had a meeting with Hurts and Barkley, which was supposed to be private, but it wasn’t. And when questioned, Barkley called it a simple conversation while Brown refused that any conversation ever took place.

Later, the WR clarified his comment and shared, “Just to clear this up. That wasn’t a meeting or a sit-down.” Brown wrote, “I said ‘I don’t recall’ because it got painted like there was tension and Sa [Saquon Barkley] had to step in. That’s not true. I was walking to my car, saw them, and stopped to talk. Nothing more.”

As for the coach and Hurts, both downplayed the conversation and are more focused on fixing issues in the offense, and that includes Brown. The trio is key to the Eagles’ success, which makes it unlikely for the team to trade the player. And that leaves the Dolphins in trouble after Hill’s injury.

Tyreek Hill is out for the season after a devastating knee injury

During their first win over the New York Jets, Hill got injured early in the third quarter. After a first-down catch, his leg bent awkwardly on the sideline. The medical staff put an air cast on his leg, and he was taken off the field.

Later, it was revealed that Hill suffered a dislocated knee and multiple ligament tears. Throughout this time, the player has continued to share updates with his fans.

“I’m about to go in for this surgery, keep ya boy in your prayers,” Hill said in a clip that he shared on X. “You guys have been awesome, ‘Fins nation, just the whole entire NFL have been amazing, sending me lots of love, lots of prayers. I’m absolutely honored, granted the situation. But I love you guys so much and hope to see you soon.”

And he has been true to his words. Now, after his surgery, he has already begun his recovery journey, taking one step at a time. He recorded 21 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown this season.

While Hill is working to recover quickly, the Dolphins will look to improve this season.
