The Miami Dolphins might have walked away with a 16–13 overtime win against the Washington Commanders in Madrid, but the real story came from Tua Tagovailoa’s family. Hours after the historic game, Tua’s wife, Annah Tagovailoa, revealed the family endured what she described as a “brutal ordeal” on their long flight home. Her post instantly gained attention and elicited a full-on reaction online.

The drama unfolded when Annah shared they had “10 hours of no WiFi/service,” describing the experience as “BRUTAL BUT WE’RE ALIVE!!!!”
The Instagram update was light-hearted yet honest about the chaotic travel conditions the Tagovailoa family went through after the team’s international matchup. Her comment quickly made its way among Dolphins fans, who were already buzzing from the Madrid victory.

They were not the only ones to have travel woes. The wife of Dolphins linebacker Quinton Bell, Brooke Miranda, posted several images from the return flight. Miranda jokingly complained about the in-flight meal: “7 hours to go — jail food.” Her postings painted a picture of a cramped yet spirited flight full of small comforts and humor as everyone rode out the long journey together.
In the middle of it all, Annah’s posts were a rare window into the personal side of the Tagovailoa family, one that they largely keep to themselves. Tua and Annah married in July 2022 in a private ceremony, only going public with their relationship a year later. The couple has since welcomed two kids and keeps their family life away from the limelight.
However, apart from these uncalled turbulence, the Dolphins could not have asked for a better win in an international game.

The game went to overtime, where cornerback Jack Jones intercepted Marcus Mariota as he returned the ball into the Commanders’ area. Four plays later, Riley Patterson drilled the walk-off field goal to seal the victory.
They showed their dependence on running back De’Von Achane, as he went with 120 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards. Whereas, Tagovailoa completed 14-of-20 passes for 171 yards. Jaylen Waddle wasn’t behind as well, leading the team with 52 receiving yards.
On the other hand, Ollie Gordon II added his contribution as he completed a short touchdown, which helped them tie the game.

After the win, Tua was grounded, as he stated, ”It feels great. First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this platform, for this opportunity, for that game we were able to play. We don’t take this game for granted as football players, having families, wives, people traveling from the States to come here.”
The Dolphins went into their bye week after this win; they will return to face the New Orleans Saints in their home ground.
