The Miami Dolphins were already struggling in the season, with a 1-3 record, and to add to their misery, their star receiver, Tyreek Hill, was sidelined due to a dislocated knee injury. He suffered an injury while being tackled along the sideline by Jets defensive back Malachi Moore. According to the latest updates, Tyreek Hill tore multiple ligaments in his left knee, including his ACL, and will be out for the remainder of the 2025 season. He was supposed to undergo surgery today, and now we have got new updates.

Hill released a couple of images, shared by David Furoneson on X. In the images, Tyreek can be seen lying on a stretcher with his mother. The two pictures have texts “Blessed” and “Love mom”.

Tyrek Hill’s mother, Anesha Sanchez has always been Hill’s biggest supporter. She has always been involved in Hill’s journey and was once a part of Hill’s touchdown celebration. It was in a game against the New York Giants in 2023 when Hill rushed to give the TD ball to her mom. Now, when a tough time hits Hill, his mom can be seen sitting behind him, supporting him as she always does. Although he has his mother’s support but the severe injury might even impact Hill beyond the 2025 season.

According to Tim Pelissero, Hill underwent major reconstruction surgeries of multiple ligaments today. Pelissero also tweeted that the major surgery and the multiple injuries have put the status of the WR for 2026 in question. Even NFL insider Ian Rapoport had a similar view regarding Hill’s availability for the 2026 season. Just a couple of hours ago, he tweeted about Hill’s surgery. He also mentioned “There is no guarantee he’ll be ready for 2026” in his tweet.

The Super Bowl champion and a five-time All-Pro selection, had 21 catches for 265 yards, and had one touchdown this season. In today’s match, he matched a season high for catches with six when he got hurt. He has been a durable player, appearing in 145 games over 10 seasons, but the stats might be disrupted following the severe injury

Praise, Prayer and Perspective pour in after Hill’s injury

Hill’s injury might be added to the list of worst injuries of the 2025 NFL season so far. After the injury, NFL stars and other key people reacted to the unfortunate event.

Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel didn’t only feel bad for the star WR; he also felt Hill’s dedication to his team. “He was probably in the best spirits of any player that I’ve ever seen (have) such a terrible experience. He immediately had wide eyes and was talking, ‘I’m good, just make sure the guys get this win. He was focused on the team.”  McDaniel said.

Even Patrick Mahomes felt the severity of the injury and subsequently showed his support through a humble tweet. “Prayers up man….” Mahomes tweeted on X after the injury. But Hill’s teammate had a different take on his injury. “That’s just his personality. That’s just who he is,” QB Tua Tagovailoa said. He further added, “Our thoughts and our prayers are with him.”

The injury has damped the Dolphins’ first win of the season. With their speedster gone, things will be quite challenging for the team as they still try to find their rhythm after a 1-3 start to the season.
