Jaylen Waddle is set to suit up tonight against the Buffalo Bills. Despite the injury buzz, Miami Dolphins’ electric wideout is ready to hit the field and light up the secondary.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on X, “Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle, listed as questionable for tonight, is active vs. the Bills.”

That confirmation lines up with reports that had been floating around all afternoon. Earlier, NFL journalist Cameron Wolfe reported, “I’m told Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle is expected to play today and be a big factor in Miami’s offense tonight vs. Bills. They need him. Not much doubt despite being questionable with minor shoulder injury.”

Just a few hours later, Wolfe confirmed the news that Miami will have one of its top playmakers on the field. “Jaylen Waddle just confirmed to me he’s good to go today. Makes official what we reported throughout the afternoon. Didn’t even need a pregame workout,” he wrote on X.

The wide receiver was kept limited throughout the week. He sat out the practice on Monday (Sept. 16) due to his shoulder injury that he seemingly sustained during the preseason. The injury bothered during the season-opening 33-8 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

The same concerns followed him in the Week 2 game. However, he performed at his best, racking up five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Beyond Waddle’s return, the Dolphins’ injury picture has continued to evolve heading into Week 3.

Linebacker Chop Robinson (knee) and defensive tackle Benito Jones (oblique), both listed as questionable earlier this week, are now active and ready to play. Cornerback Ethan Bonner, who had re-aggravated a hamstring injury, was a full participant in Wednesday’s walkthrough and has also been cleared to play.

Moreover, running back Jaylen Wright, who missed the first two games, is set to play this week against the Bills. It’s a big boost for the 0-2 Dolphins as they prepare to face the undefeated 2-0 Bills in a crucial matchup.

Mike McDaniel faces Week 3 with mixed roster challenges

While Coach Mike McDaniel can breathe a little easier knowing that Jaylen Waddle and Jaylen Wright are set to return for Week 3, the Dolphins will still be missing several key players.

Cornerback Storm Duck, who injured his ankle in the second quarter of the season opener, remains sidelined and is officially inactive. Safety Ifeatu Melifonwu also won’t play after suffering a calf injury in Week 2 and missing all practices this week.

Tight end Darren Waller is out again with a hip injury and has yet to play this season, now missing his third straight game.

In addition, defensive tackle Zeek Biggers, wide receiver Tahj Washington, and cornerback JuJu Brents are listed as inactive for the matchup against the Bills.

Quarterback Quinn Ewers is on the Dolphins’ active roster but is inactive for Week 3. He is designated as the emergency third quarterback, meaning he can only enter the game if both Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson are unavailable.

With key players returning and several others sidelined, the Dolphins head into Week 3 looking to turn their season around against a tough, undefeated Bills squad.
