The NFL’s showdown in Brazil is turning into a heated debate! Fans are calling for the league to pull the Sept. 6 game between the Packers and Eagles. Why? Because Brazil’s social media crackdown is ruffling feathers.

Brazil’s Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has thrown down a nationwide ban on X and slapped $10,000 fines on anyone using a VPN to dodge the ban. The move has sparked outrage, and now fans are pushing back hard.

“Put it out there AB, don’t play Brazil @NFL Eagles Packers,” one fan tweeted, urging the NFL to cancel or relocate the game. The frustration’s clear with comments like: “Don’t become the NBA” and “Cancel this game. Reschedule or relocate it. Don’t co-sign or endorse the authoritarian actions of the Brazilian government.” Fans don’t want the NFL to back a regime they see as stifling free speech.

Others are questioning the decision to play the game in Brazil: “I’m sure the Eagles and Packers are looking forward to the Eagles’ home opener in Brazil next week. How stupid is that?” The sentiment is strong with another tweet stating, “An ethical @NFL would not allow the @packers vs. @Eagles game, scheduled for 9/06/24, to be played in Brazil.” Fans are pushing for the game to be moved back to the US or somewhere else.

And the call to action doesn’t hold back: “Time for the @NFL to pull the Philly / Green Bay game from Brazil. Have some b—- and stand up against those communists.”

As the NFL faces mounting pressure, all eyes are on whether they’ll change their plans or stand firm. With the drama unfolding on and off-field, it’s a game to watch closely.

Timberwolves Brasil’s X account vanishes

Back in January, NBA’s Timberwolves Brasil’s X account vanished without a trace, leaving fans stunned. Known for its wild and often N— posts featuring animated mascots, the account had its share of fans and critics. One day, the account just disappeared, replaced by “Something went wrong. Try again” message. The big mystery? Whether it was banned by the platform or if the owner pulled the plug themselves.

If it’s a suspension, we might never see it again. But if it’s a self-deactivation, there’s hope it could make a comeback. Fans were splitting, with reactions ranging from “good riddance” to “bring it back.” With Timberwolves Brasil’s digital footprint erased, NBA Twitter is splitting up with theories and mixed feelings.

Stay tuned as the saga unfolds—this is one story that’s far from over!
