Coming off a Super Bowl run, everyone figured the connection between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown would only get stronger this season. However, it’s been quite the opposite this season. Brown’s production has dipped across the board, and with every quiet Sunday, the surrounding noise has only grown louder. While trade talks also picked up fast, the Eagles’ receiver has finally made his feelings clear.

When asked about the last two weeks and his desire to remain in the Philadelphia Eagles, AJ Brown was quick to put the whole thing to bed.

“Out in the back of my yard playing football with my son, that’s it. I don’t know. It’s the nature of the business. But like I said, my focus was to be present with my family and kids, and get healthy,” he said. “I’m playing, I’m good to go. Has I said anything to not be here?”

It’s easy to see how things got there, though. After three straight 1,000-yard seasons and a franchise record-setting year two seasons back, a slump like this is peculiar.

And while criticism and frustration is there for the wideout, the Eagles’ front office is still counting on the three-time Pro-Bowler.

“He wears a ‘C’ for a reason. He’s an important part of this team, of this organization. He cares about winning, he cares about his teammates, and I think when you’re a team like ours that is looking forward to an opportunity to compete for a championship, you just don’t get rid of guys like that,” Eagles GM Howie Roseman said about the wideout.

Well, we’ll see if we can see that on the pitch this week against the Packers.

This is a developing story!
