The problem with being on the practice squad for too long is that your time with the team is never guaranteed. Eagles have just won the Super Bowl. And it’s been raining love for them. Not just from Philly but also from those who were rooting against the Chiefs. But it’s not all celebration for everyone on the Philly squad. Yes, that’s right. The offseason is here, which means it’s time for the usual business: firing, hiring, and other roster changes. So, Nick Sirianni and the front office have some tough decisions to make.

So, even after winning the Lombardi Trophy, not everyone is exactly in the spirit of popping champagne. The Eagles have to make decisions on five of their practice squad players whose time with the team has come to an end. Imagine being on a team that just became Lombardi’s winner. But you don’t know whether you’ll continue with them or not. Although players on one-year agreements usually expect this, the constant struggle of changing teams again and again surely stings.

So, who are the five players who might have to say goodbye to Philly? First, there’s Khari Blasingame, the former Bears fullback. His journey with Chicago ended midseason, and the Eagles picked him up in December. The Vanderbilt alum played five regular-season games, but now his future is once again up in the air. You might remember when Jalen Hurts and Kenny Pickett were struggling with injuries back in December – it didn’t look too good for Philly. The team brought in Ian Book as a backup at the time, but sadly for him, they never needed to send him onto the gridiron.

Then there’s former Panthers DE Charles Harris. He never got to step on the gridiron with Philly but still holds a Super Bowl title to his name. Joining the above three is Nicholas Morrow from the linebacker depth. Morrow’s career hasn’t exactly gone the way he would have wanted. The 29-year-old has bounced around unceremoniously, changing teams four times in the last four years. Lastly, there’s WR Kyle Philips, who might have been hoping to re-sign with Philly after struggling with injuries and an up-and-down three seasons with the Titans.

Well, as Philly sorts out these players’ futures, their former OC has been making moves that might shake up their coaching staff.

Should Nick Sirianni be concerned?

On February 9, OC Kellen Moore lifted the Super Bowl trophy with Philly in New Orleans. And just two days later, on February 11, he announced that he would be staying in New Orleans. This marks the third straight year that Kellen has changed teams, but this time, he’s jumping straight into a head coaching role. After firing Dennis Allen midseason, the Saints had Darren Rizzi step in as interim HC for the remainder of the season. And now, they’ve officially brought in their new head coach – straight from the Super Bowl LIX winners – Kellen Moore.

Moore is now interviewing several of Philly’s coaching personnel to join him in New Orleans. And, according to multiple reports, he has already taken away a major weapon from Nick Sirianni’s offensive staff. Wondering who that is? Well, it’s Philly’s game specialist and assistant offensive line coach, T. J. Paganetti. The Eagles’ offense looked like a beast this season, thanks in large part to Kellen and T.J. So, you can imagine how concerning it is for Sirianni to lose key coaching members.

Nick might not only lose Paganetti but possibly other staff members as well. It looks like Kellen is trying to bring the whole Philly coaching squad to New Orleans with him. How this all fares out is going to make for an interesting off-season. Stay tuned with us as we track it all.
